Default Whatever happened to free speech?

The way to redefine a word is to get the new definition repeated as often as possible.... This, so far as words are concerned, is the public opinion battle for belief in your definitions, and not those of the opposition. A consistent, repeated effort is the key to any success with this technique of propaganda." (L. Ron Hubbard, founder of Scientology)

"A racist is one who is both privileged and socialized on the basis of race by a white supremacist (racist) system. The term applies to all white people... living in the United States...." (The University of Delaware)

"The redefinition of words is done by associating different emotions and symbols with the word than were intended." (L. Ron Hubbard)

"The University of Minnesota... intends to redesign its admissions process so that it screens out people with the 'wrong' beliefs and values -- those who either do not have sufficient 'cultural competence' or those who... will not be able to be converted to the 'correct' beliefs and values even after remedial re-education." Letter to University of Minnesota

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The University of Delaware has about 7,000 students living on campus. It requires these students "to adopt highly specific university-approved views on issues ranging from politics to race, sexuality, sociology, moral philosophy and environmentalism." Students are "pressured or even required" to make statements that comply with the school's views.

Being quiet about their beliefs isn't enough to keep students out of trouble. They are interviewed, one-on-one, with intrusive questions. If they fail to give politically correct answers, then a report is written about them, and they are subjected to "treatment" -- compulsory re-education. (This is a state university, which means that it is supported by taxes. Therefore, people who would be appalled by such things are required by law to support them financially.)

The Foundation for Individual Rights in Education (FIRE) has produced an online video about this brainwashing. In interviews with students and professors, it shows how the university's Office of Residence Life used a variety of methods to "coerce students to change their thoughts, values, attitudes, beliefs, and habits" so that they would "conform to a highly specified social, environmental, and political agenda."

One of the university's views is that all whites of European descent are, by definition, racists. That would include William Wilberforce, a white Englishman who spent his life working for the abolition of slavery. Hard to believe? Then read these current definitions from the "University of Delaware Office of Residence Life Diversity Facilitation Training (PDF)

“A RACIST: ...all white people.... By this definition, people of color cannot be racists, because as peoples within the U.S. system, they do not have the power to back up their prejudices, hostilities, or acts of discrimination." (Page 3)

“REVERSE RACISM: A term created and used by white people to deny their white privilege. Those in denial use the term reverse racism to refer to hostile behavior by people of color toward whites.... In the U.S., there is no such thing as 'reverse racism.'" (Page 3)

“A NON-RACIST: A non-term. The term was created by whites to deny responsibility for systemic racism, to maintain an aura of innocence in the face of racial oppression, and to shift responsibility for that oppression from whites to people of color (called "blaming the victim")."(Page 3)

The "racist" label would apply to James Reeb, a white American man who was beaten to death by segregationists on March 11, 1965, because he participated in Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s march for civil rights in Selma, Alabama.

It would also include my friend Sheila, a white woman who also participated in that civil rights march in Selma. Although timid by nature, Sheila could be strong when it came to standing up for what she believed in. She risked her life to participate in that march, and she had to face police dogs and cattle prods. But the University of Delaware says that Sheila is a racist because she is white.

It would also include white couples who adopt black children. And it would include whites who marry blacks. According to the university, these people are, by definition, racists -- no matter how they behave, and no matter what they believe.

So according to the University of Delaware, "racism" has little or nothing to do with behavior, beliefs, and motives. It is all about the university's philosophy and ideology. What men and women actually think, and how they actually behave, is irrelevant.

There was strong resistance to this program at the University of Delaware. As a result, it was discontinued in October 2007.

But in May 2008, the program was revived. And it still has the same definition of racism.

The University of Minnesota has proposed a similar program. It apparently intends to change its admissions process in order to screen out potential students who have "wrong" beliefs and values. Present students whose beliefs don't conform to the university's ideology, and who do not change their beliefs as a result of mandatory re-education, would not be able to get degrees. In other words, successfully completing their studies, they would be refused the degree that they earned because of their personal beliefs.

This program of indoctrination is especially aimed at future teachers. The Teacher Education Redesign Initiative is a group whose objective is to "change the way future teachers are trained" at the University of Minnesota. It requires teachers to embrace (and teach) its worldview, which sees America as being "an oppressive hellhole: racist, sexist and homophobic."

Many American colleges are indoctrinating students instead of educating them. This widespread problem is documented in Jim Nelson Black's book "Freefall of the American University: How Our Colleges Are Corrupting the Minds and Morals of the Next Generation." (Thomas Nelson, 2004)

This process involves coercion, mind control, and the unconstitutional lack of free speech and freedom of conscience. It also involves "service learning" -- sending students into troubled neighborhoods where they are trained to justify immorality and despise traditional values. What does this do to the ability of students to think logically and to deal with objective facts?

Replacing real education with indoctrination creates a generation of students whose beliefs and behavior are ruled by propaganda and feelings instead of facts and logical thinking. These victims of contemporary brainwashing can easily be manipulated by clever slogans, clever music, and clever TV ads. It is a perfect set-up for power-hungry politicians.

Back in the fifties, countless Western prisoners-of-war faced Communist brainwashing in Asia and the Soviet Union. Only those whose faith and values were anchored in unwavering truth were able to resist the disorienting assaults on their minds. Genuine Christians demonstrated a spiritual resistance that baffled Communist change agents and even converted guards. Never has it been more important to stand firm in God's Word, train our children to reject compromise, and stand together in God-given strength as we face a world that hates our values and mock our God!

"What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31)

"The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: what can man do unto me?" (Psalm 118:6)
College Thought Police Enforce Global Values

So, this is the nature of change. Notice the Uni of Delaware had this program running before the prince of piece moved into the (off-white, cream, beige, bone, light grey) House. Wonder if mowgli will repeal it? I'm not holding my breath....

"If you ain't for 'em, then you must be agin 'em" And this is intolerable to the progressives, they will ignore the constitution, tradition, and citizenry norms to achieve their end goals.

Progressive.....didn't that used to mean an ongoing process of change in a positive direction? Looks like they are actually regressive, heading back to the days of serfdom and tyrrany. Must get me a Newspeak dictionary, I'm getting too old to understand...

Yes, Micah. Words have been hijacked by the "dreamers" and progressive used to loosely mean Pro=good, thereby anything that built what is good into something better, was progressive in nature. Not so today.

Today, the word means: leave traditional beliefs behind, replace them with beliefs that man can and will control his destiny. This replacement of values is considered: progression.

I find it interesting how the current front man for the Progressives is Obama. Being half african american is ironic as he is doing everything to bring the entire American population into a new form of slavery. Slavery to a one world system of control. And he is eminently inspired by European thought. Irony again as this country was founded by those who did not approve of the european system. He wants to go back to it.

I guess, "free speech" may still exist; as long as what ever you're speaking on AGREES with the new "rules" being established.

Wouldn't it be funny if the word changers and the history changers worked so well that nothing would change?

I know, isn't that the most amazing thing? They can take away everything else, but no one can keep us from praying from our heart, no words uttered. What power we have through Jesus Christ!

A few weeks ago a patient/resident literally died in my arms of a suspected lung-embolism. There one moment, gone the next, although her body continued to show signs of struggling for life for a few minutes with the primary breath reflex and heartbeat. It was mercifully quick. In the previous weeks I had spoken to her about The Lord Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This lady wasn't friendly, indeed none of the other residents had anything nice to say about her. It was difficult to communicate to her about anything because of Parkinson's and various other ailments, but that one brief conversation gave me a spark of hope that her soul is saved.

It is awfully hard working in this field, caring for people at the end of their lives, I feel like God's backstop, one last human to human chance of communication of the awesome simple Gospel before the game is over. Of course the Holy Spirit is working all the time and I'm sure He snatches people from the jaws of perdition, and I'm just a cracked clay vessel in the Hands of the Master Potter.

To return to this particular episode, I must emphasise that this aged-care home is nominally roman catholic, complete with statuettes and icons of Mary, elaborate crucifixes, fish on friday etc, but in reality just a place where old people are kept alive to keep the pension money flowing into the company's coffers. If there weren't a profit in it, they'd be offering euthanasia for a reasonable fee, this is harsh but the awful truth. Working under these conditions is not fun, especially for a Bible-believing recently born-again wretch like me. The storms beating on my conscience and faith are fierce and only the Lord's loving grace and support has got me this far. Not sure how the unbelievers make it, but seeing how fast they come and go, I'm sure they get a fair bit of help from our impartially loving Lord, too.

Once the paramedics arrived, I was free to go back to my normal duties of washing, dressing and feeding the rest of the poor folks. In my distress I retreated to the only guaranteed solitary place in the whole building, where I knew I wouldn't be disturbed. Also, I was self-conscious about being observed. All I wanted to do was pray for the poor woman that had just died, one more time, as well as for my distressed colleagues and the other residents. To admit that I had to hide in a toilet cubicle to talk to my Father is shameful.

There are other times, often, when I pray to Him in my heart, and I know He hears me....He knew what I wanted to say before He made the whole Universe, which is a very humbling thought. Sorry to ramble on, I guess the point I'm kicking around here is that while we are always free to say what we like in our hearts, there are times when we should speak aloud, and it will cost us. Praying for boldness and discernment.

I have received much trouble for my impatience, and even more for a colossal intolerance for hiding the truth through justification.

But I have found a use for my impatience, it forces me to speak aloud those thoughts and prayers without fear of those who overhear it. What is amazing, to date, I have only heard positive response to declarations of faith, not the expected condemnations.

My day is surely coming when the thought police take me away for my impudence. I must remember to enjoy the protection God has given me, obstensively to allow my confidence to build up the verbage that will one day be required of me. God grant me the strength to remain true to His Word.

I'm several days behind the others seeing your post, Micah, but that was really a wonderful thing that you're doing. And, like you said, it must be soooo difficult to maintain your sanity at times. Keep up the good work, brother, you will meet those in heaven whom you've saved. Let that help to serve as impetus to help keep you going.

Dear brother.....I can't save myself, let alone others, and I'm deeply ashamed at my poor witness and poor walk with the Lord Jesus Christ. John the Baptist said he wasn't fit to untie His sandals, I'm not even fit to look at them...and it makes me sick to my soul at the way folks blaspheme and misrepresent Him and don't want to hear of Him but want to reinvent Him in their image, just like I used to.
