    Default EU President 'within weeks'

    President Blair ‘within weeks’

    Published: 01 Oct 2009

TONY Blair is set to be made the first President of Europe in weeks, The Sun can reveal.

He will be nominated by EU leaders in Brussels if, as expected, Ireland backs the hated Lisbon Treaty in tomorrow's referendum.

A senior Government source said: "If we get a 'Yes' vote it will all move very, very quickly. Tony could be named by the end of October."

The leaders of the EU's 27 nations, not the voters, will choose the president.

Former PM Mr Blair would not formally take up the powerful position until all EU countries ratified the Treaty.

Even if Ireland votes "Yes", Poland and the Czech Republic are still to decide. But Sweden, which currently holds the EU presidency, wants a president named by the end of this month - and Mr Blair is favourite.

Asked if Mr Blair was the only real candidate, French Foreign Minister Bernard Kouchner replied: "For the moment, indeed."

A senior French diplomat added: "Who will dare say no to Tony Blair?" He played down concerns about Mr Blair's support for the Iraq War.

The revelations came as Tory leader David Cameron said his party would think again about a referendum on the Treaty if every EU country approves it.

If all don't, he vowed to hold a national vote on the issue.
He said: "If the Germans ratify, if the Poles ratify, if the Czechs ratify, if the Irish vote 'Yes' to the Treaty, then a new set of circumstances (apply), and I will address those at the time."

The Irish Republic goes to the polls TODAY to vote on the evil European Union's (Lisbon) Treaty. Please join us in prayer and fasting so that God gets the Irish Republic to vote 'NO!' in order to defeat this treaty and thus cause the EU to collapse accordingly! Thanks!

Obama will seethe if Blair gets that particular designation. Obie wants to be the leader of the UN nations.

I think I saw something that said the Irish approved the treaty and that will set things up for a leader of Europe. This could very well be the position the AC (not saying Blair is the AC) might hold in the future. We need to keep an eye out here in Europe. They seem to be on a fast pace to prophecy fulfillment.

There are still two countries left to ratify the treaty, they are the Czech Republic and Poland. Both countries have Eurosceptic presidents who have so far refused to the treaty. We still need to pray.

I agree that they are speeding up!!!! We all sense that some major event is soon to happen, causing it all to fall into place. Will it be the rapture, Israel striking Iran, or will it be the prophecied wars of Psalms 83/Isaiaih 17 and/or Ezeliel's War of Chapters 38-39? A huge dark cloud hovers over the Middle East, the air is beginning to stir, one can almost hear the distant roar of thunder. The earth is quaking, and I think that most of us here truly believe that God is about to act. Let's continue witnessing for the lost, and pray for Israel!!!!!

Anath, I truly believe that we are. From what scripture has to say of the last days, coupled with what is going on in the world right now, especially with Israel, leads us to believe we are on the brink of the Lord calling us home. Of course, He could, for His reasons, delay, that's His call, but all I'm saying is from the information that He chose to give us thousands of year ago, we are that generation of which He spoke, and the time is now. Any readers out there who haven't accepted Christ, I plead with you to do so before it is too late.

Too late for the Tories: Czechs dash hopes of delaying EU treaty - Times Online

Too late for the Tories: Czechs dash hopes of delaying EU treaty

The last hurdles for the Lisbon treaty — and to Tony Blair’s chance of becoming Europe’s first president — seemed to fall away yesterday when the Poles pledged to sign and the Czech President warned David Cameron that it was “too late” for him to stop the document taking effect. Vaclav Klaus signalled that he would pass the treaty once it had been reassessed by the Czech Constitutional Court, a process which could take some weeks but is unlikely to last until May or June, when Mr Cameron hopes to take power and then hold a referendum.

With the Polish President, Lech Kaczynski, also saying yesterday that he would ratify following the emphatic approval of the treaty by Ireland in its re-run referendum, it could come into force as soon as January 1.

EU leaders hope to decide upon both their new president and foreign minister, the position of High Representative also created by the treaty, at their summit in Brussels at the end of this month. The decisions could well be provisional, however, pending President Klaus’s final assent. The Czech Constitutional Court will announce in two weeks’ time a timetable for its latest inquiry, demanded by senators close to President Klaus and widely seen as a delaying tactic.

British Conservatives hoping that the mercurial Czech President will keep the treaty alive long enough for them to win power and call a British referendum seem likely to be disappointed.

Asked after an anti-treaty march in Prague whether he had a message for Britain, President Klaus said: “I am afraid that the people of Britain should have been doing something really much earlier and not just now, too late, saying something and waiting for my decision.”

Jan Fischer, the Czech Prime Minister, will attend talks in Brussels on Wednesday designed to keep up the pressure on his President to ratify.

Besides the two new jobs, the treaty creates an External Action Service for the EU — effectively a Foreign Office, with embassies around the world.

Nicolas Sarkozy, the French President, was quick to call for ratification by the two EU nations, Poland and the Czech Republic, that have yet to give it. “France wants the states which have not yet done so to finish the ratification procedure as quickly as possible so that the Lisbon treaty can be implemented before the end of the year, as the 27 \ promised,” Mr Sarkozy said.

He asked Sweden, which holds the rotating EU presidency, “to take all necessary initiatives so that the Lisbon treaty quickly comes into force”.

A spokesman for President Kaczynski said that he would sign the Lisbon treaty Bill, which has already cleared parliament, “without undue delay”, although he set no date.

Fredrik Reinfeldt, the Swedish Prime Minister, said that his meeting in Brussels with Mr Fischer and José Manuel Barroso, the President of the European Commission, would “decide the action to take to advance the situation”.

Mr Reinfeldt will begin preparing a shortlist for president and foreign minister and hopes to keep each to two or three names, The Times understands.

But a more fundamental decision has to be taken by the EU leaders — do they want an internationally known figure who is readily recognised in Washington, Moscow and Beijing, such as Tony Blair, or do they want a more low-key chairman?

Some leaders may not want to be put in the shade by someone with such obvious global presence as the former British Prime Minister, while others are urging the EU to think big and give Mr Blair the chance to make the most of the job.

A range of names besides Mr Blair has been suggested, including several current Prime Ministers: Jan Peter Balkenende of the Netherlands, François Fillon of France and Jean-Claude Juncker of Luxembourg. Other former leaders under discussion include Felipe González of Spain, Wolfgang Schüssel of Austria, Mary Robinson of Ireland and Paavo Lipponen of Finland.

Fresh from his first real success since becoming Irish leader in May last year, the Taioseach, Brian Cowen, yesterday signalled that Mr Blair could expect Irish backing.

“Tony is highly respected in this country,” he said. “He made a wonderful contribution during his premiership in relation to the peace process, providing peace and stability in this country. I have certainly the highest regard for Tony Blair. If he is a candidate, you can take it that we would be very supportive.”

Mr Cowen acknowledged that Ireland’s deepest recession in decades was the principal factor behind its pro-treaty vote, with 67 per cent in favour.

I'll add this here! God help Europe now! I see World War Three approaching.

Abba Father, we are taught as Christians to pray for our political leaders who have been appointed directly by you to rule over us for a season. It is with great humility that I finally humble myself and acknowledge that this is actually a command from you that we pray for these people in Christian love. I pray in love for the leaders of the European Union and my own country, the United Kingdom, that you will love them, bless them and give them wisdom and knowledge in order for them to perform their difficult roles with grace, truth, justice and honour. I pray that through this prayer, many leaders will find the Lord Jesus Christ as their own personal Lord and Saviour of their own free will, in Jesus' love and name. Amen.
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. Now mine eyes shall be open, and mine ears attent unto the prayer that is made in this place." 2 Chronicles 7:14-15, Holy Bible

Father, collapse the EU immediately, and free the member states, including the UK, in Jesus' name. Lord, save the USA and Israel too. Amen.

Wow. This is a biggie. One of the names listed could very well be someone referred to in scripture. I think the leaders of the world will use the EU as a model to form a consolidated North American government, with its own money system. Let's watch obama on this, closely. They have a plan, and I think America is about to "change".

I think it was in Malaysia around the year 1960 that the communists were just three days from fully taking over the country when God finally intervened and the rebellion collapsed. Thanks to God, Britain was able to defeat the communist rebellion - the only Western country to defeat a communist army. Don't give up praying, there is till time for God to intervene! Britain continues to pray for God's intervention in these last desperate hours. We still believe in victory in Jesus' name.

You all think this is the "little horn"? At least from a future perspective?

However, the Czech Republic's president has put a new spanner in the works by adding a new amendment to the European Union's Lisbon Treaty which means that the treaty is once again in trouble as all 27 EU nations have to restart talks again from scratch! This simple step means that the EU could shortly break up for good!

Well, here's something you can chew on in respect to this:

Recommendation 666 of the EU Treaty

As I understand it, this recommendation deals with EU leadership, and as things currently stand, Javier Solano of Spain is the Secretary General of the High Council for the Common Foreign Security Policy (CFSP). He is one of the most powerful leaders in the EU right now; is a key player in the ME peace talks, and he's all for a divided Jerusalem.
If I understand correctly, this recommendation puts Solano in as interim leader of the EU once Poland and Czech Republic sign on.

Recommendation 666 can be viewed here:

    Default Blair/EU prez?

I have to admit that I'm torn. On one hand, I don't want the treaty to pass, but then I think, well, if it is somehow 'necessary' for the rapture, then pass it! Same with war with Iran. I don't relish the death and destruction, especially the death of unbelivers, but I am so anxious....I want whatever has to happen, to happen. Now.

Is Blair the AC? Don't know. I've long thought that the AC was likely to come out of Europe, but I didn't think it would be this..um....obvious? I just had the feeling that the AC would rise quickly from obscurity as opposed to being a well known head of state.
I know what you're thinking.....Obama rose from obscurity, etc....maybe. I guess a case can be made for either. Or Javier Solana or Prince Charles or the Pope or Hillary Clinton or Dr. Phil or well....you get the idea.

Hmmm....here's a thought. Here in Central Texas, it's raining, so hum this on your way to work...(to the tune of 'Singing in the Rain'.)

    Rapture in the rain
    Oh, rapture in the rain
    What a glorious feeling,
    I'm happy again...

    My mind's wandering...later. RJ.
