Medvedev Shows Off Sample Coin of New ‘World Currency’ at G-8

July 10 (Bloomberg) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev illustrated his call for a supranational currency to replace the dollar by pulling from his pocket a sample coin of a “united future world currency.”

“Here it is,” Medvedev told reporters today in L’Aquila, Italy, after a summit of the Group of Eight nations. “You can see it and touch it.”

The coin, which bears the words “unity in diversity,” was minted in Belgium and presented to the heads of G-8 delegations, Medvedev said.

The question of a supranational currency “concerns everyone now, even the mints,” Medvedev said. The test coin “means they’re getting ready. I think it’s a good sign that we understand how interdependent we are.”

Medvedev has repeatedly called for creating a mix of regional reserve currencies as part of the drive to address the global financial crisis, while questioning the U.S. dollar’s future as a global reserve currency. Russia’s proposals for the G-20 meeting in London in April included the creation of a supranational currency.

If the world financial system is going cashless as so many of our brethren are claiming in their dire warnings, then why do these "Global Oligarchy" elites keep trotting out a new coin or other currency every few months or so?

As I have expressed before in posts to RF threads on this topic, the Mark of the Beast is a technological enabler for the absolute control of all financial-based transactions (buying and selling) and really has nothing to do with a cashless financial system.

Good question Sean. I would take a gander and guess that they think the world will accept a singular currency, better than we would accept going cashless. Methinks parading a common currency is just the forerunner to going cashless soon after.

I'm sorry, Admzaa, but I disagree about the European Union, that we aren't in the end-times, etc. You're entitled to your opinion, and I won't argue with you about it. I'm witnessing and praying for the lost to come to Christ before the rapture.

We will reach Europe with the gospel in the same way that Peter, Paul, James and John, Stephen, Philip and all the others reached the polytheistic ancient Roman world— by obeying the Great Commission, person by person. Yes, some were arrested; others were killed—indeed many were imprisoned, tortured, and killed; but that is what God has called us to do and He has told us what the cost may be. That is how the anti-Christian Soviet Bloc countries were reached. That is exactly how Muslim countries are now being reached with the gospel. And that is how strict atheistic (and violently anti-God) countries such as North Korea and Communist China are being reached. Additionally God has provided the internet and satellite broadcasting to enable us to reach people in all countries as well.

Our job is to ensure the preaching of the Cross—the gospel of Jesus Christ—reaches all people. The success of that gospel is in god's hands, not ours. It is He alone who draws; He alone who convicts; He alone whose seed it is; and He alone who brings forth the fruit.

The church that Jesus Christ is coming back for is the Church Triumphant. It will be strong, and vigorous, and powerful ... as indeed it is now ... for it is energized, directed, and kept by His Holy Spirit. Everything else that is church in name—regardless of the profession of its various members—will be left behind.

With respect, the problem is not that Europeans have not had the gospel, but that the majority reject it. And that has nothing to do with the EU, but with the hearts of men.

The gospel is going out ... but it is hard ground.
