Hello, everyone - just joined!
Hi,
I'm Shoshi, from rural S. Devon in the south of the UK, a really beautiful part of the world.
I have been a believer since 1984, and from the moment of my being born again I had a hunger to study God's Word. This has been the greatest adventure of my life, leading me where I certainly never expected to go! Shortly after my conversion the Lord opened my eyes to the place of Israel in His purposes, which led to even greater amounts of ongoing study, including 5 years of evening classes in Biblical Hebrew, 2 visits to Israel, and membership of various pro-Israel groups.
A few years after that, a "chance" remark (!) (Isn't God wonderful?) led me to question my belief in theistic evolution, and a great wrestling within, until I finally accepted that whatever I might believe, if it did not coincide with the Word of God, I must be wrong, and I must change, in order to line up with Scripture. This led to another great, ongoing adventure of study! I am now involved with various Creation groups and receive regular teaching input from them.
For several years I led a Bible study group in our home. This was a great joy to me, but the great sadness was the unwillingness of most people to go further with God's Word. In my experience, most Christians are content to remain shallow and not to grow. Having searched out such treasures from the Bible, this grieves me, because they don't know what they are missing! If true believers are a small minority in the world (the faithful remnant), then those who want to put time and effort into study are an even smaller minority.
I live with my husband of 23 years, and 3 female grey tabby cats that we both adore and spoil rotten! I enjoy all things computing and arts-and-crafts, when I have the energy to do them. I am blessed with both parents living nearby, both in their late 80s but very fit and well, praise God. We see them often. We have no children, but several nephews and a niece, and in November, gained a great niece! My husband's family are all believers.
I look forward to getting to know you all on these boards. Please be patient with me as I find my way around - it's a huge forum with lots of new friends to make!!
