Help!!!
To make a long story short - I've been back and forth kind of with my (now Ex) boyfriend who is a Jehovah's Witness.... just today he sent this reply to me on the email after I sent him one telling him that if he ever was willing to sit and hear my side of the story (in so many words) that I was here for him and would be more than happy to talk with him..... He sent this:
I appreciate what you are trying to do, but there is no doubt in my mind what the right path is and which group is following that path as a whole as closely as possible.
Since I've been getting involved again, I re-researched some of the things you mentioned that day you were at my house. For example the Trinity. Again, I found that every scripture which is used to support the Trinity, shows more a unity of thought/purpose. There is a scripture that describes Jesus and God as 'one'. there is another scripture that describes Jesus and his followers as 'one' (for example). There are many scriptures which relate Jesus talking to God or about God (or vice versa) that would make no sense at all if they were the same person. The bible describes Jesus as being the first of God's creation, talks of how Jesus was sent by God, Jesus stating there are things that he does not know and only the father knows (impossible if it was the same person).
As far as Hell, if i ever found evidence that it was real and God punished people eternally for a relatively miniscule lifetime of sin, well i'd run from that god as fast as i could for thats not a loving or just God. I couldn't worship a god that could allow people to be tormented forever. That is completely contradictory to how God has proven himself to be since the beginning of creation. anyway, i think you can see that i'm set in my beliefs as much as you are set in yours.

ARRGGHHHHHHHH!!!!
Unfortunately I am just getting back into the scriptures myself so I cannot, as of yet, answer him quickly with a rebuttal to this..... I could really use someone else's brain right now!!!
His response makes me want to scream...literally!
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephe. 2:8-9)
