    Frustrated Help!!!

To make a long story short - I've been back and forth kind of with my (now Ex) boyfriend who is a Jehovah's Witness.... just today he sent this reply to me on the email after I sent him one telling him that if he ever was willing to sit and hear my side of the story (in so many words) that I was here for him and would be more than happy to talk with him..... He sent this:

I appreciate what you are trying to do, but there is no doubt in my mind what the right path is and which group is following that path as a whole as closely as possible.
Since I've been getting involved again, I re-researched some of the things you mentioned that day you were at my house. For example the Trinity. Again, I found that every scripture which is used to support the Trinity, shows more a unity of thought/purpose. There is a scripture that describes Jesus and God as 'one'. there is another scripture that describes Jesus and his followers as 'one' (for example). There are many scriptures which relate Jesus talking to God or about God (or vice versa) that would make no sense at all if they were the same person. The bible describes Jesus as being the first of God's creation, talks of how Jesus was sent by God, Jesus stating there are things that he does not know and only the father knows (impossible if it was the same person).
As far as Hell, if i ever found evidence that it was real and God punished people eternally for a relatively miniscule lifetime of sin, well i'd run from that god as fast as i could for thats not a loving or just God. I couldn't worship a god that could allow people to be tormented forever. That is completely contradictory to how God has proven himself to be since the beginning of creation. anyway, i think you can see that i'm set in my beliefs as much as you are set in yours.

    ARRGGHHHHHHHH!!!!
Unfortunately I am just getting back into the scriptures myself so I cannot, as of yet, answer him quickly with a rebuttal to this..... I could really use someone else's brain right now!!!

His response makes me want to scream...literally!
For it is by grace you have been saved through faith – and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God – not by works, so that no one can boast. (Ephe. 2:8-9)

Well the Trinity eh? How about the Nicene Creed that was used against the Arians?
The Trinity | Christian Apologetics and Research Ministry
I love what CS Lewis once said "What God begats is God." Therefore the son is Jesus who existed before time and there wasn't a time when neither existed. Whoa! Doesn't make a whole lot of sense because time never existed yet.
Also with revelation 4 it shows pretty much the trinity, the throne of God, the lamb to open the scrolls and the seven fold spirit of God.
As for the firstborn in Creation, firstborn in the Greek, according to John MacArthur (idk greek yet!) can also mean, and usually does mean, first in rank essentially, that in other words is supreme in all things. I.e Colossians 1.

As for the part of only the Father knowing the hour, remember Christ is also Human and yet still God, so he voluntarily made himself lower than the angels as said in Hebrews. He gave up a bit of his divine willingly.

As for hell, it is real! Jesus who is God talked about it! Have him read revelation 20-22. Since Jehovah witnesses use a weird bible that isn't even the Word, he needs to look at a real one and even the original Greek.

That CARM sites are great for this!

Hell...well, it was meant for the fallen angels and now unfortunately we go there because God is so Holy, Holy, Holy he can not tolerate sin and there is a punishment. He is loving, hence his Son! God himself who could supply infinitely for all sins and the only one who could fulfill the law perfectly.

But of course, pray! Lean not onto your understanding or on others, but at the same time be steadfast in your beliefs in the one true God that is not the Jehovah's witnesses!

only The Holy Spirit can reveal Jesus to the heart of man....
Sin blinds us and keeps us in the "trealm" of the flesh where the enemy has a full sway to bring us to vain human reasonings and...PRIDE...which surely blocks us to receive anything from God....
Now...if it can help go to my site...and see those pages:

feel free to read copy and use anything in the site....
Let's give The Lord the due glory and let's pray your ex changes and surrenders to THE LOVER of OUR SOUL....

The statement about the minescule amount of sin... Have you ever heard the gospel presented this way before? By using the 10 Commandments and showing how we have violated God's law, and if He is a holy righteous God and Judge, then He must punish sin. The Bible says that all lairs, murderers, thieves, and adulterers will have their part in the lake of fire. And all of us have broken the 10 Commandments. God wrote His law on our hearts. Specifically on something called our conscience which bothers us when we sin against that. So, since we broke God's law, we are all condemned to die for our crimes. We cannot pay the fine against us. For example what if the fine is 1,000,000 dollars? Then someone whom we don't even know walks into the courtroom and says, "Judge, I'll pay this person's fine for them so you can let them go cause I love them." That's what Jesus did for us on the cross. He paid our fine, the impossible debt of sin that we couldn't pay for. He paid for that Himself and now we just have to accept the gift of eternal life that Jesus gives.

    Colossians 2:13-15

    13And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;

    14Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;

15And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
This video further explains just what I'm talking about. Hope that helps!
But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31

Thank you for the info! I sent him some more info on Hell and the Trinity, some of it from the sites JCA recommended. What he will choose to do with those only God knows.

I find myself at a point where I can only pray now that God allows him to see the truth. I hope so, I care about this person and I know he is running out of time!

Yes you have to Trust him to the Lord.

Many of us have family and friends we love who are not responding to God's Word.

Keep praying for him and leave him in God's capable hands.

When I was fretting over my in-laws many years ago before they died God brought this scripture to my attention.

2PE 3:8 But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. 9 The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
You know God is doing everything He can to draw our Loved Ones to Himself and His salvation more than we know because He loves them & desires they come to Him in repentance.

There is an excellent resource called Jehovah's Witnesses Answered by David Reed. He thoroughly explains the selection of verses they use in error and the multitude of scripture contrary to their teachings:

You also can find excellent resources on the Way of the Master website. It is an excellent resource and class to take regardless of who we are witnessing to:

I still remember the day You saved me
The day I heard You call out my name
You said You loved me and would never leave me
And I’ve never been the same!
