I’m in too! Hi, I’m Debbie (actually it’s Debera after the old actress Debera Carr). Mom originally wanted to name me Geralynn-Marie and call me Gerry, but Dad wouldn’t have it (Oy! Thank you Dad!) Of course the kids at school used to love to call me Da-Bor-Ah which I hated LOL!

I’m 46, a stay-at-home wife and mom to a 14 year old son (who saved, but I’m worried about the pull the world is having on him!). Hubby is saved too Praise God! We’ll be celebrating our 18th anniversary in May of 2007.

I’m an animal nut (my favorite creation of the Lords!) and have 2 large dogs, 1 cat, 2 guinea pigs, 1 rabbit, 2 hampsters, and several fish. I’ve been called Mrs. McDonald or Mrs. Noah from time to time :D

My hobby is painting and decorating wooden birdhouses and boxes and making glassbead jewelry; which I use to fundraise for various missions at the Messianic Congregation we attend – www.sonofdavid.org

My testimony is up in the Testimony section up top in the thread “A place to share our testimonies.” I too never participated much in the Ladies Lounge at RN. It’s funny, but even being a stay-at-home, I can only find computer time inbetween things and that doesn’t give me a whole lot of time to read and post, so mostly I just read.

This is the Fourth time I've tried to post this... my computer is having Issues LOL!

Hello All, My name is Cheryl, I am married to a great guy and we have a Son 20 and a Daughter 22, both are saved but are out of church right now.
I stayed home with them and homeschooled them with the Bible and Christian Curriculum since they were in third and 4th grade thru high school. My daughter graduated from Bible college and my son graduated at 15 and started working, and has just moved out and gotton his own apartment near by. Our daughter lives with us in our second home and attends a nearby college learning to be a cosmotologist.
I am just a stay at home wife and mother, and I love my garden, and I love to read. I witness and hand out tracts with my husband everyday. He is retired now. Our objective is to serve the Lord with our witnessing. Nice to meet everybody. Looking forward to praying and talking to everyone.

What are you trying to keep them away from you or an area etc. There isn't a way to keep them away per say but there wasp traps that do a dandy job. You put beer or fruit juice in them, the wasp gets in, can't get back out. Bees are another matter, they generally don't bother people and do a lot of work in your garden. I have never been stung by a bee, even when working on plants covered with them its the wasps you have to watch out for. To avoid ATTRACTING bees, its best to stay away from any perfumes scents etc. especially if you are allergic, also avoid going barefoot, they will sting when stepped on or trapped in your clothes etc. Wasps and hornets on the other hand can be downright cantakerous, they do work in the garden too but the risk outweighs the benefits IMHO. I always keep a large supply of wasp spray around and check for nests wherever I am working. The traps work well in home gardens but destroy the nests whenever you find them too because this is usually where trouble will happen, and there will always be plenty of wasps around, let them have their nest in someone elses yard.

Oooooo Shiver... just thinking about those things 'bugs' me! :D It's me I'm trying to keep them away from. I'm not allergic, but I am phobic... I was attacked by an entire nest of yellow jackets when I was young and I've never gotten over the fear. Needless to say, that can really ruin a nice sunny day ;)

I know about the perfumes and hairspray/soap. I don't use any of that, but for some reason they're still attracted to me. I've used the traps too, but they're smart little critters! Seems if it's a choice between one of those traps and harassing me, they always choose me... Did you know that Deborah in both Hebrew and Greek means "The Bee!" Sometimes I think our Father has a strange sense of humor ;)

Honeybees don't generally bother me (unless they're up in my face), but those nasty wasps and hornets...

I guess I'm just gonna have to live with this until the Lord sets me free from it (or takes me home... which ever comes first lol). But thanks for the Info Sis! :)

I wish I could tell you that there is a way to keep them away from you but there isn't. I can tell you though that these are hard working little creatures in Gods plan. Even the wasps and hornets. They spend a lot of time doing away with harmfull bugs that damage the garden, they are predators basiclaly. I guess thats why they can get so ornery. Your already doing the right thing by avoiding scented stuff. Look for nests around your house too, you will be amazed where you will find them. I have wooden steps on my front porch and every year I spray nests from under them at least a couple of times. Seems like they love to make nests in the middle of traffic paterns, where people walk by the most, and their nests is generally where you will have the most trouble with them. Your fear is most understandable, I never had a big incident with them but I still fear them to a degree because of their unpredictability. Honeybees are another matter. They are the cutist little things! I do a lot of deaheading in the summer, cutting off flowers past their prime to keep the plants looking good, and I have worked on plants that were literally buzzing with honeybees. If you are carefull not to move to quickly the little fellas act like you are one of them! They just continue buzzing happily along, sometimes I think they know what I am doing will bring more flowers and just accept me as another worker. You can even swat a honybee that gets in your face with no fear, they simply mosey along somewhere else. Nowdays though there are far more wasps than honeybees and I'm with you on staying away from them.2:

    Hey Ladies!

This is so nice to have this section up and running. My name is Anita. My birth name was Ella Margaret, which I don't particularly like. After my mom adopted me as an infant, she renamed me Anita which is my birth mother's name. I am married to a wonderful born again christian for 13 years. I have only child...a 12 year old daughter who is also born again. She loves the Lord and so far is able to see the world for what it is.

I have two cutie pie doggies..Annie Mae (border collie) and Scooby Doo a beagle. They are just too sweet.

I do love to garden so I will definitely ask for advice in the spring time. I could also just use advice regarding my christian walk so I am really looking to fellowship with you ladies and learning from mature christian women.

Hello! I am a newbie to this board.

My name is Amy and I am a stay-at-home-homeschooling mom to two boys, ages 10 and 12. This is my 6th year of homeschooling. I also have two older children. A dd who is 20 and living on her own and a son who is 18, who will soon be moving out.

Okay, my family is complicated, so I am going to try to sort it out for you.

My dh and I are remarrieds. We have been married for 6 years and we both love the Lord. :praise

We were both formerly married to spouses that left us. My hubby and I met at Divorce Care.

The oldest children are mine from my first marriage. My 18 year old son and his girlfriend are expecting a baby at the end of June and will be moving in together soon. He has proposed to her and given her a ring, so I pray they marry soon.

The younger two are his from his first marriage. They were adopted by him and his first wife. She left them when they were 2 and 4 and I became their mom when they were 4 and 6. On December 22nd, their "other mom" died of alcoholism. For the last couple of years, she has been out of their life because of the alcoholism. My hubby and I are in the process of exploring the option of me formally adopting them, which I very much want to do.

The "other mother" and her 2nd dh had a son, who is 7 and has aspergers. For the last 1 1/2 years, he has been in foster care. The last I heard, he may be returned to his dad. IF he is ever removed from his dad again and be eligible for adoption, my hubby and I MIGHT adopt him. That is in the Lord's Hands at this time.

I have two fur kids. A 2 year old mini aussie, Scotty, who is deaf and a toy aussie, Clay, who will be 3 in a couple of weeks. I am active in my local dog club. I teach a puppy class and help out in agility and obedience classes.

It's nice to meet you all!

    Welcome, Darcy and Amy! 2:

What a fascinating assortment of strong women we have here!

Darcy, how old is that grandchild? He or she? Wanna swap pictures? What do you think, Ladies... should we ask Buzz and Chris to set up a photo gallery?

My granddaughter is one. She is a real pistol already. Has quite a temper. Grandma slapped her little hand for getting into things she was not suppose to, after being told no several times, and what did she do? Gives me a look like how dare you, quickly grabbing one of the items throwing it across the room. Boy are her parents in for it.

I would love to swap pictures if only I knew how to post them. I tried once and ended up with the picture of the pope on my screen. It took our I T guy more than a half hour to get the picture removed and I have been afraid to try and post another one every since.
