Great idea, bro. Wouldn't that be wonderful? Over the past year, I have had a chance to travel and meet close to a dozen RF members in seven different states ... some more than once. The times of fellowship were something I will always treasure until the day we meet in Heaven. Very special!

    Hello ducati;

I'm new here, but I just wanted to tell you I'm praying for you and your wife. My heart goes out to you both because I can relate to what you're going through completely! I had a complete hysterectomy 11 years ago, at age 37, due to ovarian cancer. I'd already had breast cancer 20 months before that, and I was (and still am) unable to take any type of HRT because of it. Instant menopause from surgery is traumatic--emotionally as well as physically! Just remember that God is in control, and He will see you both through this!! He will make His way for you!

I'll keep you both in my prayers.

Thank you so much for your kind words - our Prayers go out for you as well. My wife has her days - time is on her side. She always says 'she thanks the Lord for the hysterectomy' - it has brought her closer and more in tune to the Holy Spirit. She is able to work now. She's an RN and has started teaching an "old folk" aerobic class at an ALF - wellness awareness I think they call it. She will also be doing p/t work in the rehab section of this ALF. She's taking baby steps to get back into a normalcy of working again.

    Your Prayers are evident.

So glad, Ducati, to hear that your wife is doing so much better, and even working again some. Like you said, time is on her side and she will do even better as the months roll by.
Good to hear that this has helped her spiritually as well. All of our afflictions should end this way, with us walking closer to Him.
Blessings to you and your dear wife.

God Bless you all - we have been and are continuing to experience the answer to your Prayers.

The wife got the word today - she starts work in Surgical ICU at Florida Hospital next month (July). This is an AMAZING answer to Prayer. The shift she'll be on is perfect , the pay is great and the Hospital is just 10 miles away.

She has been doing wonderful (hormone wise) but now she needs prayer for something else - she has a labral tear in her shoulder. It will likely require surgery so a miracle healing is in need so's it don't effect her new job.

    God is good.

Lord Jesus sometimes we don't realize when You put up a road block to redirect our actions. Don't know if that is the case here, but You do. I ask Lord for your healing for Ducati's wife and that You guide her to Your desire for her life.

God IS good, bro! And I have complete confidence He will provide for your wife's healing. He does not do things half way. If He opened this job he will equip her to perform it.

I think what God is trying to get through her thick head is to lighten up on the exercising. She has been hard gore for 20+ years and she ain't getting any younger. Her focus should be on her career and her walk with Christ. I've always told her if she exercised her faith / spirit like she dose her body she would be a modern day Moses. She has already had 3 orthopedic surgeries due to her intense workouts.

Keep prayin for her , she learn someday.
    Thanks.

Take your wife to either an herbalist or a naturalpathic (sp?) doctor. There is an herb out there that I use regularly to help keep my hormones in balance - it's called, Don Quai. I love it! But I should mention that I've not had a hysterectomy, so read up on it; talk to an herbalist or naturalpathic doctor and see if this herb could help benefit your wife in her situation. My mom had a full hysterectomy when she was about 28 years old and it completely changed her. Issues in this area seem to run in my family and I'm praying I don't ever have to endure this procedure. I am NOT a fan of Pharm. meds. Most cause more problems than the problems we have to start with.

    UPDATE :

The wife is moving forward. The last job I posted - she had to leave it - at this stage in her recovery the Hospital computer charting system was a bit over whelming for her. She will however be starting at an ALF / rehab center next week as a shift supervisor - she's looking forward.

Her medication with the hormone / hysterectomy aftermath is still just a half a mg. of Adivan everyday. This in and of itself is a miracle of God after a full hysterectomy - no hormone replacement therapy. Ya just never hear of that.

    Your Prayers are ever present.

    Thank you.

I think we have finally figured this thing out.
It seems like once a month she has a 'meltdown' that may last about 3 or 4 days....much like a cycle. The body sure is complex even without all the goods intacked.
She's working for a home health company - its not what she wants but we thank God for that till He provides otherwise.

    God is Gracious.

Some of us are just so used to going full bore in a certain direction that it is difficult to steer a new course. Ducati may the Good Lord redirect your wife for her betterment and closer walk with the Lord.

We did go see an endocrinologist, he took 12 vials of blood and did a mammogram or her thyroid. The thyroid didn't show any concern nor did all the blood work , just a little low on the estrogen, which is to be expected. Her estrogen was 31 ,normal (the Doc said) is around 40 , so 31 isn't really THAT low. He gave her some progesterone pills and those did only worst things.....like everything else has.

The only thing every Doctor seems to suggest is seeing a shrink or a psychologist...THAT just infuriates me. The next Doctor that suggests that I'm gonna punch out. How is talking to a shrink gonna fix a medical problem ? She had a hysterectomy not a lobotomy. The thought of these Doctors even suggesting this only brings on more stress and anxiety for her.

The crazy thing about all this is...SHE'S AN RN. She's been nursing for 19 years. Been a fitness instructor / nutritionist in the gym for over 20 years. She's far from being ignorant when it comes to the medical field and its diagnosis'.

The good thing is , it IS forcing her closer to the Lord and His Word.

I would research for a good, competent doctor. I would call a good university hospital and make an appointment with a female doctor. Heck, I would even make the trip to the Mayo Clinic or Johns Hopkins if I had to! Obviously your local docs cannot treat this, so I would step it up a couple three notches. My husband researched a great doctor who is a professor and researcher for Crohn's disease for me, at a hospital downtown. Well worth it, not to have to deal with a run of the mill, see ya in a year or two for your next colonoscopy, type doc.

I worked in the O.R. For 25 years as a Surgical Technologist, and saw many good surgeons, and some I wouldn't let operate on my dead hamster. We have to take charge of our medical care. If some clown can't treat you, then bypass the clown and find a good doc. I am in no way suggesting you haven't tried to do just that, so don't think I am coming down on you. I am not. But 20 years of frustration with less than stellar doctors has left me fierce.

Like Matt said, I AM NOT A DOCTOR, but this is my advice. for your wife and you.

If I am not mistaken, this herb you are taking has been linked to liver failure in more than a few people taking it. Please be cautious!
