    Default Spicey Baked Turkey Wings

You rarely find fresh turkey here in Australia it isn't that popular here.

Our local supermarket has been stocking fresh turky drumsticks and recently they have added Turkey wings to their selection.

Not sure what they do with the rest of the Turky?

So I decided to give the Turkey wings a go because you don't get much meat on a chicken wing but I love spicey marinated and baked wings.

So I tried my recipe on the Turkey wings and it all worked out beautifully.

Don't ask for a recipe because I just do a pinch of this and a dash of that technique but this is basically the ingredients you have to work out your own quantities.

    Salt
    Pepper (preferably black cracked)
    Honey
Chopped red Chilly (fresh if you have it, use powdered if you don't)
Chopped parsely (again I try to use fresh, dry flakes otherwise)
Sweet dried paprika (it's ground dried red capsicums)
    Oil

Mix it together and marinade your wings.

I put them in the oven to bake, first covered for a while and then uncovered to brown up. Basically a nice hot oven and some water in the bottom of your tray to help the wings cook first for a while.

I'm not a recipe follower. I just sort of know from watching and learning from my mum and other women in the family how long to cook things for. I was trained up from very young age and recipes and timing and all that was not something my family used with a wood stove back in the old country. They translated those skills to electric and gas here in Australia. I grew up with a wood stove on the farm until my teen years when we moved to the city.

I'm sure there must be similar recipes on the internet which can give you the approximate quantities.

Sometimes I use pineapple juice instead of honey but it doesn't give you a real crispy skin. Sweet but not too cripsy. If you like you can also add some brown sugar with the pineapple juice. It goes really nice with the chilly.

Certainly will do them again as the Turkey was so much cheaper than chicken at the moment.

thanks, I'm gonna try this whenever I can find turkey wings.
To suit my hubby, I'll probably have to kick up the heat with a pinch of cayenne

Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
