    Default Date Nut Balls

These are the old-fashioned kind that our Grandma's made.
Made a batch last night and hubby loves them.

    1 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 c. all-purpose flour
    1/2 t. baking powder
    1/4 t. salt
1 package(8 oz) pitted dates, chopped
    1 c. chopped pecans
1/4 c. powdered sugar for rolling

    Preheat oven to 350

In mixing bowl, beat 1 cup sugar with eggs until fluffy.
In separate bowl, combine flour, baking powder and salt.
Blend dry ingredients into sugar mixture.
    Fold in dates and pecans.
Spoon batter into greased 8 in. square pan; bake for 30 minutes.
Remove from oven and stir immediately with wooden spoon. Mash crust down into dates and pecans.
Let cool until it is comfortable to the touch, then roll into 1 in. balls and toss into powdered sugar.
    Makes about 3 dozen.

Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

Date setting on RF is not allowed.
But they that wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. Isaiah 40:31
