    The United States closed its embassy in Damascus Monday and pulled its diplomatic staff from the country after Syria refused to satisfy Washington's security concerns, CNN reported, citing State Department officials. According to the report, 17 embassy officials, including Ambassador Robert Ford, left the country for Jordan by car Monday morning. The Syrians were only notified of the decision after the diplomats had left the country.

    The Syrians were only notified of the decision after the diplomats had left the country.
    Very wise decision there!

    Such a fast shifting of change in the Middle East....makes my head spin.
