Ayalon: Japan Must Join Sanctions on Iranian Oil

Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon called on Japan, Sunday, to join sanctions against Iranian oil as a way of fighting the Tehran government's nuclear threat. During a meeting in Jerusalem with his Japanese counterpart, Ryuji Yamane, Ayalon stressed, "A nuclear Iran is a threat to order and global stability. Following the tightening of sanctions on Iranian oil, the government in Tehran is in a panic, but not enough." He continued, "Japan must join the sanctions on Iranian oil. The current sanctions are efficient but not paralyzing." Ayalon supplied information to Yamane that oil exporting countries are able and ready to make up for shortfalls in Japan if Japan joins the sanctions. Later this week, he will attend the Munich Security Conference, to promote international consensus on Iran sanctions.

I guess there are only so many sources of oil in the world. I hope the Japanese will think hard about the past and realize that a nuclear Iran is not good for anyone.
