WASHINGTON - The Obama administration has proposed selling 600 "bunker buster" bombs and other munitions to the United Arab Emirates, which lies across the Gulf from Iran, to deter what it called regional threats. Iran is widely suspected of seeking to develop nuclear arms through a program that Tehran says is for peaceful power generation only. The proposed $304 million sale would include 4,900 tail kits built by Boeing Co that turn unguided free-fall bombs into guided weapons and 4,300 "general purpose" bombs, the Defense Department said in a mandatory arms sale notice dated Wednesday.

Probably for Israel to pick up before they cross the Persian Gulf. It'll make the fuel last longer not having to fly them over the deserts.

If memory serves, that's a big if for me, Israel used an Arab base on a practice bombing run on Iran not to long ago. Thought it was a Saudi base but I could be wrong about that.

As stated in a similar thread on this forum from a little over a month ago, these bunker busters are for the UAEs F-16 strike aircraft. UAE pilots will fly these aircraft loaded with these weapons in a coming Western-Arab coalition airstrike on bunkered Iranian nuclear facilities.

im not sure but it does seem like the gulf countries' rulers are trying to be actively helpful on all kinds of matters to the west
need to keep in mind though that they dont represent their people even one bit
