The Palestinian Authority does not intend to recognize Israel as a Jewish state, a member of the Palestinian negotiating team participating in the direct peace talks said in Ramallah on Wednesday. "The Palestinian Authority will never recognize Israel as the Jewish state because such a declaration will negate the right of the Palestinian refugees to return to their home," said Nabil Sha'ath. Sha'ath clarified that "the PA is not opposed to the fact that there will be a Jewish majority in Israel," but that the PA had rejected Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's request to discuss the recognition of Israel as the Jewish state at the talks schedule to occur in Sharm e-Sheikh.

The Palestinian Authority will not recognize Israel as a Jewish state, even though the PA acknowledges there is a Jewish majority in Israel, senior Palestinian negotiator Nabil Shaath said at a press conference in Ramallah on Wednesday. According to Shaath, the Palestinian negotiating team turned down Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's request to discuss the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state during the upcoming round of peace talks in Sharm el-Sheikh next week.

Shaath said that the recognition of Israel as a Jewish state would harm Israel's Arab citizens and negate the right of return of Palestinian refugees. Shaath added that any future peace agreement with Israel would be brought before the Palestinian people in a referendum. "If we're on the verge of a peace agreement, we will need complete unity," he said.

Then there is no point whatsoever in continuing these "negotiations" which are anything but "negotiations" and would be more appropriately described as a dictated capitulation to Islam.

Bibi, time to get wheels up and back to Jerusalem. A military solution is the only remaining option for Israel. I think you knew that all along.
