The Iranian Navy on Tuesday successfully test-fired a new missile from its first Iranian-built Jamaran destroyer in the waters of the Persian Gulf, the Islamic republic's Press TV reported. According to the report, the surface-to-surface Nour missile hit its target at a distance of 100 kilometers. Despite the successful test-firing, Iranian military officials announced plans to build an upgraded version of the missile with a 300-kilometers range.

TEHRAN, Iran (AP) — Iran's official news agency says its navy has successfully test fired a sea missile from a newly commissioned destroyer in its southern waters. IRNA said Tuesday the anti-ship missile, dubbed Noor, or Light, destroyed its target. The report doesn't elaborate on the range or give the exact location of the launch but said the missile was fired from the Jamaran destroyer. The ship was inaugurated in February in a southern Iranian port. The test is considered part of an assessment of the ship's capabilities. The missile has been used regularly in war games over the past years. Iran occasionally announces military advancements that cannot be verified independently.

Yep. I think Iran is trying to play a psychological warfare game by announcing they have achieved feats that they think will give their enemies pause before attacking them. Iran announced they have a stealth airplane almost immediately after Russia announced they had one. That right there shows the Iranians are bluffing. You can't believe a word they say.
