West to Iran: Disclose nuke ambitions
    By ASSOCIATED PRESS
    PITTSBURGH

The leaders of the United States, France and Britain declared Friday that the revelation of a previously secret Iranian nuclear facility puts heavy new pressure on Teheran to quickly disclose all its nuclear efforts - including any moves toward weapons development - "or be held accountable." A defiant Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad retorted that his nation was keeping nothing from international inspectors and need not "inform Mr. Obama's administration of every facility that we have."

French President Nicolas Sarkozy said Iran has until December to comply or face new sanctions. Before that, on October 1, the Iranians are to meet with the US and five other major powers to discuss a range of issues including Iran's nuclear program. "We will not let this matter rest," said British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, who accused Iran of "serial deception."

'Iran must prove nuke program peaceful'
    By ASSOCIATED PRESS
    PITTSBURGH

Russian President Dmitry Medvedev on Friday urged Iran to prove it is not seeking to develop atomic weapons, stepping up pressure on Teheran and signaling increased solidarity with Western nations determined to rein in its nuclear program. Medvedev said revelations that Iran has secretly been building a uranium-enrichment plant raised "serious concerns," and demanded Teheran come to the table at an international meeting next week with a cooperative attitude and evidence of peaceful intentions.

"We are counting on Iran - particularly in light of the newly revealed information about the construction of a new enrichment plant - to provide convincing evidence of it intention to seek to develop nuclear energy with purely peaceful aims," Medvedev said in the statement. His remarks, in a statement released during a G-20 summit overshadowed by worries over Iran, added to indications that Russia could support tougher sanctions if Teheran fails to comply with demands it come clean and halt uranium enrichment. But Medvedev did not mention sanctions or any other consequences Iran could face if it refuses to fall in line.

"or be held accountable". How? More sanctions?lol. They will do nothing, just as they did with N. Korea, sit back & let them test-fire missiles & even had an underground test. They will do the same with Iran. Israel, it's up to you.

Iran atomic chief says uranium facility revealed 'on time'
    By ASSOCIATED PRESS
    TEHERAN, Iran

The head of Iran's nuclear program insisted Friday that his country reported the existence of a new uranium enrichment plant at the proper time and suggested that UN inspectors will be allowed to visit the facility. "We announced this new project on time," Iranian nuclear chief Ali Akbar Salehi told state TV. "The West would criticize Iran no matter when Iran announced it." Earlier Friday, Salehi gave the first public official confirmation of the site on the state news agency IRNA. He depicted it as new, saying Iran is "now in the process of building" what he called "a semi-industrial plant for enriching nuclear fuel."

Kremlin to Iran: Prove your nuclear program is peaceful
    By ASSOCIATED PRESS
    MOSCOW

Russia on Friday called on Iran to prove it is not seeking to develop nuclear weapons. In a statement, the Kremlin said that Iran's construction of a uranium enrichment plant violates UN Security Council decisions. It said the UN nuclear agency should investigate the site immediately, and demanded Iran cooperate with the investigation. The statement said Russia "urges Iran to provide proof of its commitment to a peaceful nuclear program" by the time its officials meet with diplomats from Russia and other nations on October 1.

Iran's nuclear program is anything but peaceful. Russia already knows that and knows they are working on delivery systems for the nuclear warheads. It's amazing how stupid some countries are acting over the whole situation.
