Frattini: G-8 giving Iran 3 months to stop uranium enrichment
    By ASSOCIATED PRESS
    UNITED NATIONS

Italian Foreign Minister Franco Frattini said Thursday that the Group of Eight nations is giving Iran until the end of the year to commit to ending uranium enrichment and avoid new sanctions. "It seems to me a reasonable perspective. And after the end of December, I strongly hope we will have at that time practical moves from Iran," Frattini said.

"That's why together we decided while not excluding further measures, as even Russia apparently said, we have to give Iran a serious chance," he said. "If we give a chance, let's give a chance. Don't, I would say, immediately put another option on the table. This would be counterproductive to the eyes of our counterpart. This is our strategy for the moment."

Frattini said the G-8 could not let the Iranians believe the world's economic powers are "relaxed" and willing to let Iran string them along. "But we are to make it absolutely clear that our window of opportunity will not remain open indefinitely," Frattini told a group of reporters on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

World Powers Issue Soft Deadline for Iran - News Briefs - Israel National News

World Powers Issue Soft Deadline for Iran
    Reported: 07:45 AM - Sep/24/09

(IsraelNN.com) World powers issued a soft deadline for Iran on Wednesday a few minutes before its President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad was scheduled to begin his address to the United Nations General Assembly. U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told reporters following a meeting with the foreign ministers from Russia, Britain, France, China and Germany that the six nations would wait until the talks with the Islamic Republic scheduled to take place on October 1 before deciding whether to impose harsher sanctions over its intransigence on halting its nuclear development activities.

The world has already given Iran 5 years to stop their enrichment activities. What makes them think 3 months is going to make a difference? At the end of 3 months Iran will be less than 2 months away from a bomb. This is nothing but appeasement. I sure hope Israel makes a move soon. It doesn't look like anyone else is going to do it.

Laughable. What then, sanctions? I thought they were given 3 months back in June. On & on it goes.

I don't believe that Netanyahu is going to give Iran much more time to comply with UN demands.

I agree, Sis, and I'm sure that much surveillance is on Israel's military. The world is watching, waiting, for a big event soon to happen. I told my son this a.m. how blessed that we are to be on God's side. He's in control - it's all in His hands - just a matter of time.
