Israel Hamas missles striking near Eilat

Israel commanders have confirmed Hamas missles striking near Eilat came from Libya. Phut/Libya is noted in Ezekiel 38:5 as having strong ties with Persia/Iran.

Sudan/Ethiopia Ezekiel 38:5 nation is in conflict with southern Sudan which is an ally of Israel. Northern Sudan is a terrorist training center.

What the anonymous IDF official said was:

1.) Israel believes a Libyan weapons depot was the source of the rockets which were smuggled through Egypt and ultimately were fired at Eilat two weeks ago from the Egyptian Sinai, and at southern Israel from the Gaza Strip.

2.) Israel believes longer range Libyan Scud rockets have also been smuggled into Gaza.

3,) The Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) were responsible for those recent attacks. The PRC is composed of terrorists from HAMAS, the al-Aqsa Martyrs' Brigades, Islamic Jihad and the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) who are commonly also referred to as the Salah al-Din Brigades, and whose funding is known to come directly from Hezbollah in Lebanon.

Wow! I though Scuds were 30ft or more long. Quite a tunnel required for something that long to move in to and out of. Weapons of that kind will be a problem once the conflict begins but it will be a problem for the Hamas as well. Such weapons will justify Israel taking off the gloves when dealing rapidly with the sources. And rapidly will mean using much more destructive, standoff weapons like artillery and bombs rather than sending in patrols that could take hours or days. No doubt if Cast Lead was a template for how Hamas will act, the Scuds will be erected next to schools, mosques or hospitals.

The Libyan's possessed the Scud-B Variant (SS-1B) which is 11.25 meters long (36.9 feet) and 0.88 meter (2.88 feet) in diameter weighing over 13,000 lbs just prior to launch. In order to covertly transfer Scud-B Variants from Libya to Gaza they would have to have been disassembled into much smaller sections.

Scud-B is based upon the Russian R-17 rocket and it is easily disassembled into component parts by drilling out standard rivets - fuselage, engine compartment, IRFNA-Oxydizer tank, Kerozene tank and the guidance compartment come apart for covert transport. Reassembly would be hazardous to do and would of necessity have to be done underground in Gaza. I think Israel will probably locate the Scuds and destroy them in fairly short order.
