In late February 2011 the Chinese People's Liberation Army Navy (PLAN) sailed a single 4000-ton frigate named the Xuzhou into the Mediterranean Sea to rescue Chinese citizens stranded by the Libyan civil war. This is the first time in history any Chinese naval vessel has entered the Mediterranean Sea.
Oh...a frigate. Not as big as one of our Destroyers. You know how big China's navy is? I know they have a few Destroyers, several pig boats and that one training carrier on line, but not even sure if they have a Cruiser class or not.
I sure miss those old Iowa class battleships...those were something!
