"Georgian government officials used to tell me that they wanted to model their army after the IDF," former Israeli ambassador to Georgia Shabtai Zur told Ynet Sunday evening amid the country's bloody feud with Russia over the separatist region of South Ossetia. The fighting which broke out over the weekend between Russia and Georgia has brought Israel's intensive involvement in the region into the limelight. This involvement includes the sale of advanced weapons to Georgia and the training of the Georgian army's infantry forces. The Israeli Defense Ministry held a special meeting Sunday to discuss the various arms deals held by Israelis in Georgia, but no change in policy has been announced as of yet.

Zur, a candidate for mayor of Ashkelon in the upcoming municipal elections, explained that since Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili took office the country has seen advancements in various fields, specifically the enlistment of women to the army and the recruitment of reservists. "In my opinion these developments are due in part to advice Georgia received from Israeli companies that operate there," Zur said, adding that the economic development in the country has attracted many Israeli businessmen.

They are saying that a small group of Georgian soldiers aided by the Israelis took out a whole Russian division. :woah: You can bet mother Russia will have something to say about that later. I can definitely see Russia wanting to come down to Israel in retaliation if they are able to absorb Georgia.

Perhaps "Gog" has already gotten his "evil" thought?? :woah:

Ezekiel 39-38 could be on the brink of fulfillment, and then... God will supernaturally come against them, to show the world His glory, and that He is indeed real. Then soon after that, we'll hear those much yearned-for words, "Come up hither!"

Well, we can only be sure that it is before the 70th week. I tend to think it will be before Gog/Magog as it would seem that God turns his focus back on Israel then, but I guess that is just a theory. I think most scholars just place it at an unknown point before the 70th week. Some think it will happen immediately before the 70th week starts.

I guess we can only speculate and will have to wait and see.

But we might end up seeing Gog/Magog. I just don't know.

matt54, i hope that we see it, also. it would wake up many, and they could be saved before the rapture. however, we can't sign on to that as definitely happening pre-rapture, because it would take away from the doctrine of imminence. absolutely NOTHING has to occur before the rapture.
