Russia plans buildup in the Mediterranean: 'Russia has strategic interests'

MOSCOW — Russia has completed a two-week naval exercise in the Mediterranean and plans to re-establish its footprint in the region.
Russian navy commander Admiral Vladimir Vysotsky said his force would establish a presence in areas deemed by Moscow as strategic. Vysotsky said this would include the Mediterranean and the neighboring Atlantic Ocean.

"What is important is that we have arrived [in the Atlantic and the Mediterranean] at a scheduled time and not just that we appeared there," Vysotsky said on Feb. 3. "We'll do all we can to build up our presence where Russia has strategic interests."

Russia very quickly could control this whole region if we are not careful. As the article indicated, Russia is funding the upgrade to Syria’s port of Tartous for the purpose of accommodating large naval ships, large Russian naval ships. Let me repeat, this means a large Russian naval port in Syria. Not a good thing. The Russian Navy just concluded the largest naval exercise in the region in the last 15 years. We are being sent a message here, or probably even worse, a warning. Russia has a vested interest in this region and they are not going to back down. I believe part of this is due to the nuclear plants in Iran and the high probability that Israel or the US will try to take them out. Russia could very well control most of the Mediterranean Sea, the Bosporus Strait and parts of the Black Sea, and maybe even the inlet to the Atlantic and do all this by either by sea or air, oh and not to mention the air defense system with ballistic missiles they are installing. Also, oil, Russia has agreements with Syria to help develop these as well.

Ok, this is has the real potential to get ugly real quick. Is the Gog Magog thing we have been talking about ready to happen? I think it might very well be. To defend herself, Israel will have to take out the nuclear plants in Iran but since some of these are so deep in the desert, they will have to use either very large 2000# plus bunker busters or possibly low yield nuclear bombs. Also, though they deny it, Israel is known to have a large stockpile of neutron bombs which could take our personnel without damaging buildings, equipment, etc. Russia has a vested interest in Syria and Iran which means she will probably very quickly become involved and yes you guessed it, an all out war. That would mean Putin might very be Gog from the land of Magog.

Yes, we are getting very close indeed to seeing our Savior, Jesus Christ. We must pray for our families and friends, Christians and non-Christians, and even our enemies.

Absolutely! It is VERY exciting to be the chosen ones to actually live out what has been prophecied so long ago. I don't know why He picked us, but I am thanking and praising Him for letting us be that selected few!! :prayer

mikalikat, I'm more than a teensy bit excited for all of this. I'm readytogo. And as for my life grinding to a halt, it almost seems like it came to an abrupt halt. Three weeks ago, I was laid off with a half an hours notice from a job that was "allowing me" to live from paycheck to paycheck. And so far, not another job in sight. The Lord will provide, because I certainly can't. But, I keep telling myself if I can just hang on a little while longer, things are going to change immensely. Hint, hint.

Actually, I believe that we are going to see the fulfillment of at least one more of God's prophecies before Gog/Magog. And it's brewing right now. There are those who are beginning say that the next event on God's calendar for Israel is the fulfillment of Psalm 83 possibly preceding or in conjunction with Isaiah 17. And the players are certainly rapidly lining up for that! I would suggest that you look into that--for example in parts 3 & 4 of Jack Kelley's current study "The End Times According to Ezekiel"
