'The Road We've Traveled' With Obama
Three dismal years are spun into 17 minutes of fact-challenged campaign film.

The film is riddled with other inaccuracies and misleading claims.

The film includes Mr. Obama's 2008 claim that the death of his mother, Stanley Ann Dunham, from cancer "could have been prevented" if only she "had good, consistent insurance." But earlier this year, a biography of Dunham by Janny Scott, "A Singular Woman," revealed that she had health insurance that covered most all her medical bills, leaving only a few hundred dollars a month in deductibles and uncovered costs. For misleading viewers, the Washington Post fact checker awarded this segment of the film "Three Pinocchios."

Almost as important as what the film says is what it doesn't. There's not a word about the failure of the president's stimulus to produce the jobs he pledged—according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, fewer Americans are working today (132.7 million) than when Mr. Obama was sworn in (133.6 million).

There's nothing about his promise to cut the deficit in half by the end of his term—according to Treasury's Bureau of Public Debt, the administration has piled up more debt in three years and two months ($4.93 trillion) than his predecessor did in eight years ($4.8 trillion).

There's nothing about the crumbling situation in Afghanistan, strained relations with allies like Israel, Mr. Obama's unpopularity in the Islamic World, the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, multiple missteps with Iran (from failing to protest the stolen Iranian elections in 2009 to the mullahs' unchecked pursuit of nuclear weapons), and Mr. Obama's flip flops on closing the Guantanamo Bay detention facility and providing civilian trials for terrorists.

Does any of this really surprise anyone? The Main Street Media is completely sold out to Obama and will do what ever is necessary to see him re-elected.

What troubles me the most regarding the November elections is - hearing many, and I do mean MANY, Republicans say, if my man is not nominated as the Republican nominee, I'm just not voting. Hear that mostly from the Ron Paul bunch. This is why I still contend, Obama will probably be re-elected come November because, many Republicans just don't care enough to get out and vote. Sad. Very sad...

You want to know another very ugly truth about Obama, or any American president for that matter, but particularly with respect to the current Presidential usurper...

The President IS NOT the Commander in Chief of the Army and the Navy nor the Militia of the several States unless he is called to that specific Service of the United States.

United States Constitution, Article. II., Section. 2.

"The President shall be Commander in Chief of the Army and Navy of the United States, and of the Militia of the several States, when called into the actual Service of the United States;"

How's this been interpreted in the past? I've always assumed the President was "called into "service", per se, by virtue of being elected as President--both in time of peace and war. This is interesting...

I agree with you as far as the US military is concerned, Hilltopper. But the "Militia of the several States" is under the control of the governor of that State.

Kinda depends what "militia" means. I know the National Guard is under control of governors--but they can and are now--been 'federalized'. And always could be federalized under a national emergency (WW1, WW2, Korea, Vietnam, etc). So they can be called up by the president or a governor (for state issues).

But the 'National Guard' wasn't organized until 1903. So I guess this could be considered a 'Militia'. Honestly, I'm not sure precisely as some states still have "Militias"--strictly voluntary. Like the old days.

Actually, this clause is all about how it reads. I posted this exactly as how I received it from what I had assumed was a conservative source of information.

Not so.

The source of this is as far Left wing as left can get, and it is a very deliberate attempt to falsely inform and incite for nefarious reasons many well-meaning individuals of the political right wing.

So... I posted this here to see if anyone else here would get it for what it is. If nothing else this is instructive on how deviously clever the Left can be in attempting to manipulate the right wing.

The fact-of-the-matter is this:

POTUS is always the CInC of the armed forces of the United States. 24/7/365 while in office and not incapacitated in any manner.

However, POTUS is only the CInC of the Militia of the Several States (National Guard) when those individual National Guard units are called into the service of the United States. Otherwise the National Guard units (State Militia) are under the command of the various State Governors.
