    Question Any Christian search engines?

    Brothers and Sisters:

I'm looking for some alternatives in two areas.

One: search engines. I KNOW that Google provides, BY FAR, superior search results, BUT I also am averse to Google's original willingness to allow China to censor their search results (before they finally ended this arrangement with Beijing last year), and, more recently, Google's teaming with "questionable elements" in this whole Libyan (Muslim Brotherhood) uprising. But, my question is, is there an alternative search engine that provides results of the same quality as Google's? More importantly, is there a search engine provided by a Christian company/organization that needs people to came and do their searching so they can increase web traffic?

(I've been using Ask.com, but it sometimes seems to fall far short of where I wish it would go).

Secondly, I have always enjoyed RPGs. Especially those set in medieval times. My question is: does anyone know of any CHRISTIAN-THEMED on-line RPGs that are FREE to play? I found one that looks awesome,
except that there is a charge to play. (Basically, it was a "Christian" AD&D game -- you know -- knights, swords, chivalry, except that, instead of individual glory on the battlefield, you were pursuing God and spreading the Good News. Again, it looked great, but I have no ca$h for such things). Any ideas?

Well, there's Yahoo search engines. That's ranked second to Google. I read that there are 4 main search engines that most people use: Google, Yahoo, MSN, and Ask.com in that order. I'm not really sure though what any of those searches are like, because I only use google. Hope that helps!

I think there is one called Yippy.com as well. At least, there used to be.

    KR McKay,

Respectfully your thread title is misleading, are you looking for search engine alternatives or
    other alternatives to Christianity?

Tjplaw, I believe that he was looking for search engine alternatives and possible search engines run by Christians if anyone knew of any.

Thanks, Hannah! Since I'm using Firefox, I have to wait for someone more knowledgeable than I to make a Firefox add-on for Worthy Links, but I have added it to my toolbar, and moved it just below the FF search box for now.

One other I found was "
Pro Life Internet." It looks like a Google search, but the "About" tab at the site says this:
"...Unlike other search engines we donate 100% of the money raised through our site to pro-life efforts. Every penny raised goes directly to pro-life efforts.
"...We are run by Crossroads Pro-Life, a national pro-life organization based in Washington, D.C. Started in 1995, Crossroads sponsors pro-life walks across America and Canada each summer made up of volunteer students from colleges and universities from both countries. "ProLifeInternet.com and Crossroads are not political organizations and do not in any way participate in any political activity whatsoever. Crossroads is a non-profit educational organization and is listed with the IRS as a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt charity."

Indeed...I think our good friend, Matt, may've done that -- I see that he did an edit on Reply #6 on the thread -- he may've "fixed" the confusion for us, then. I was unaware, of course, and was confused when I saw the (changed) title of the thread last night until I got inside the thread and started reading! (I was asking myself, "Did I use that title?" LOL)!

    hello,

    Anybody using duckduckgo?

    I know, I know... It's a funny name for a search engine.

But they say they don't track you, and my limited tests products good results. But that's the problem with searches. You never know what you are missing.

    Just wondering...
