Posting A Video Question

Halp! I have NO talent for discerning computer code!! So, I am going to post the code for the Fail Boat video as copied from the "embed" box on You Tube, and ask if one of you computer code cowboys (or cowgirls as the case may be) would be kind enough to highlight in red or something the parts I should be putting in between the tags, so I get a nice clean vid just like Robert did. I would soooo appreciate the rescue!

Here's the active link copied from the little address bar at the very top of the page - you know the big long one that you use to type in Rapture Forums - Bible Prophecy for the End Times.

Now look right up at the bolded part.

Now put that in Youtube tags by copying and pasting it.

Wow!!! The good news is it worked! The bad news is I still don't think I could ferret that little snippet out of a paragraph of senseless nonsense the next time my post depends on it... Oh man! And I know where to find a really cool one of large cats and catnip too...

I just click "embed" and take off with whatever's there. I get this teeny tiny box, then when I paste it here, there's all this weird stuff. (Yup, I flunked algebra too!) Did ya see the kittehs yet?

Oh, well, has anyone showed you how to post videos the easy way yet? Let me know if you still need help. :) I saw those big kitties

and they acted just like my kitty does when he's on catnip. It's funny to see all these huge sedate, proper cats, acting just like rediculous house cats.

You know the big, huge address bar at the top of the computer that you type in addresses like Rapture Forums - Bible Prophecy for the End Times and Google into?

Well, every page on the internet has a specific location to it and it is always found up in that address bar at the top of the page. So, I'm on Youtube right now looking at Danny Boy sung by the Three Muppets. I look up at the very top of the page and I copy the address up there.

Here's what it says, with spaces inserted by me. They're not there in real life.

http: //www. youtube.com /watch?v=OCbuRA_D3KU

Now the bolded part is what you should be interested in. v stands for video. All those letters and numbers back there are the location or address of the video. So now it reads, video equals OCbuRA_D3KU and that's it's address.

For illustration, Mr. Potatoes address equals 21 Spud Row
Carrotville, MN 39349

So would I write on an evelope addressed to Mr. Potato: Mr. Potatoe equals 21 Spud Row....

I said all that just to illustrate, that one does not include the v= in the video code. Now copy the OCbuRA_D3KU and put it in youtube tags:

[YOU TUBE VIDEO ] OCbuRA_D3KU [ /YOU TUBE VIDEO] Spaces inserted on purpose

That explains what Matt meant by "everything after v="!! Thank you so much KBR, it never would have occurred to me to look there! As tempting as it is to feel stupid, I simply don't relate that well to tech stuff. Hand me a rope with a horse on the other end, I know how to act. Hand me a cell phone, I don't even know how to answer a ringtone... *dinosaur stomps into the future with an education*
