I cant get into the chatroom....I have the newest java available and it still keeps sending me to a page that says I have to upload java...I go there and java says I have the newest one...I'm pretty sad :sorry
What operating system and browser are you using? and was java already installed or did you install it to enter chat?
If you are using IE try firefox, if firefox try IE
Also try visiting this link to see if its a java install issue

yes Chris...I was fine before...I have the same computer and operating system and so forth and my java is as recent as it comes according to the java link...it stops at you have to have java and another link to that host chat room page...and if you do nothing it sits there...I miss the chat room :(
godchick3, if you find out how to fix it, please let me know. we've tried evrything, but it won't work. well, not everything.lol. someone said to remove the "firewall" or something, but they said that is some anti-virus protectin or something, so we didn't do that. as you can tell, i'm NOT a computr person, so i don't even know how to converse in computer lingo. anyway, would appreciate it if you would keep me posted. thnks
I'm presuming you are using IE. It may be drastic ...and I hesitate to suggest it. But if you delete your history AND all your cookies it might solve the problem. No guarantees, though ... and, as I said, it's drastic. The other option is to Go to the Sun Java Download page. Go to Download J2SE v 1.4.2_03 amd choose Windows Offline Installation. It seems the Sun Java program is better than Microsoft's.
BUT ... a better option (and easier) would be to install Mozilla Firefox as your browser instead of IE. This usually fixes the problem ... at least in Firefox. Usually IE problems still persist./ But FF is a better browser in many ways anyway ... certainly a little more secure.

1) make sure java is working by visiting this link http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml
2) post the browser you are using such as Internet Explorer and version number (like IE6 or IE7 etc) - can typically be found by clicking the "help" drop down menu and choosing "about"
3) if using Firefox are any Add-ons installed like noscript?
At the moment, there is not sufficient information to offer a solution (even if known) because there are just too many possible reasons.
If I can replicate the issue, I might be able to help with a solution.
Seriously, install Firefox and try. I know that other people who have had similar things happen on other chat sites have solved their problem by doing this!
Tha chat in IE still doesn't work for them but it does in Firefox.

Yeah, there's a problem with Microsoft's implementation of Java in IE since it split from the creators of Java-- Sun Microsystems.
Installing Firefox is dead easy. Just go to http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox and click on the "Firefox 3 Free Download" button. Just follow the instructions and voilá ... you now have Firefox ... and your chat problems disappear.
