    Default Regarding Mary

Would this be a logical argument. I posted this on Mike Gendrons facebook discussion page. I don't want to debate Catholics because I dont want to and I don't have the time. I do pray for them though, as we are told to do with every lost soul.

"I have a question regarding the Catholic belief that Mary was sinless. When asking this question, I usually get a,"Jesus couldn't have been born of a sinner". That of course is with the presupposition that Jesus COULDNT be born of a sinner. Yes, I have looked into the,"Mary being the Ark of the Covenant". Hermenutically that carries no weight. The Ark of the Covenant represents the Christ. That is how it was interpreted it for those people, in that lifetime and that place. We can not,"reinterpret it". To add personal interpretation to scripture would be blasphemy. Anyway....Back to the point. If Mary was indeed sinless and you want to apply the same logic that Jesus couldn't be born of a sinner, then wouldn't Marys mother have to be sinless? Then wouldn't Marys mother, mother have to be sinless to? So on and so forth? Does not the Bible make it clear that we can only be seen perfect by God with the imputed righteousness of Jesus the Christ? I will leave the debating to someone else."

    Jesus Freak,

Mary was not sinless. Regardless of what RCC states, she is found offering her purification sacrifice in Luke 2:22-24. But that is not the whole issue. She was chosen by the Lord at the right time ("Due Time" (Rom. 5:6) as Paul calls it) to hold the high honor of bringing forth our Lord into this world that He might become like us to represent us. In that respect she is blessed!!

Mary did not have to be sinless in order to bring forth a sinless Jesus. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit. His birth into the human race does not mean He has the blood of the human race. Original sin comes to us via the union of a man and a woman who produce a child together created in the image of Adam (Gen. 5:3). Christ is for us the image of the living God (Col. 1:15; Heb. 1:3). Thus the Virgin Birth. Some may say but He was carried in Mary's womb therefore He inherited her blood. To that I want to say, no He did not. He only inherited the things necessary for human life:

From Q~Does the blood of the mother run through the baby she is carrying? - Wellsphere

Q~Does the blood of the mother run through the baby she is carrying?

A~ "This is a question that is often asked when the issue of surrogacy is on the table. A Reproductive Endocrinologist once explained it to me very simply, that the fetus makes it's own blood supply. The more technical answer is this: the placenta is the organ that attaches the developing embryo or fetus to the uterus (womb) and is composed of maternal and embryonic tissue, it links the blood supply of the embryo to the blood supply of the mother, allowing the exchange of oxygen, nutrients, and waste products.

Please note that the two blood systems are not in direct contact, but are separated by thin membranes, with materials diffusing across from one system to the other."

The blood type is obtained from the male, in this case GOD! The reasoning because Jesus was sinless Mary had to be is full of flaws. He was adopted into the Royal family of David and therefore, Heir to His rightful throne.

    God Bless
    In Christ,

Daniel 12:3 (New King James Version)

Those who are wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever.
