NEED HELP in Witnessing to Catholics

In trying to witness to Catholics on a Roman Catholic Forum I unfortunately feel as if I am swimming in a tank of "sharks"

Boy did I get an earful with one going so far as to saying that I should QUIT "idolizing the Bible"...another callled me a "false prophet".

Anyhow it left me quite discouraged.

Sister you must take it point by point. Start with the Apocrypha or Purgatory. Ask them why Jesus never spoke of Purgatory. Remember you are going up to Satans biggest acheivment. Forums witnessing and chat room witnessing only goes good with one on one. I too used to be Catholic. I remember saying prayers to Archangel Gabriel. *shudder God Forgive me! I suggest you go to Mike Gendron's website and get info on verse by verse with Catholics. He was a Catholic for 30 years and has devoted his life trying to save them. Mike Gendron, as an evangelist, teacher, and ex-Catholic, has some excellent information on his site. Just Google "mike gendron" in quotes like that and his site should come up top of the list.

Well, when you go into a forum like that, it can unfortunately end up being just that.

Matt and JF both gave you some good advice on where to go for info. My advice is that you don't let them discourage you. People called Jeremiah a LOT worse when he preached, and he was just trying to warn them about God's incoming judgment.

I've been to Mike Gendron's site.....and in fact have ordered from him before and watched every one of his videos.

If you have visited the thread "Who Is the Rock?" that I posted there on that Roman Catholic Board I had received 176 replies in less than 10 hours!! Most of which were very condescending. I couldn't believe my eyes reading some of those comments which to me did not represent having a relationship with Christ at all. It's like most of them had a chip on their shoulder. Good grief....I am a CHRISTIAN...not a Buddist Monk, etc.

It also grieved me to see so many of them refer to themselves ONLY as a Catholic as if it was a special reward and someone professing that they were a "Christian" such as I was somehow missing the big picture.

It also amazed me how much they made fun of the Bible and scoffed at it's authority. One even told me I was in for a BIG SHOCK when Christ returned.

Outside of maybe a handful who were trying to be nice so as to convert me back to the one true church it was all very sad.

Several mentioned that they were saved and while I'm not God and not anyone's judge I don't see how you could claim to be saved and still hold on to false teachings like that. I have 3 family members (2 sisters, a brother and my father) who state it as well and the one, my sister, just 15 months younger than me.... is a so called "Eucharistic Minister" (distributes communion) She adimately defends that Jesus's diety is in the Eucharist....his flesh and blood. If I try to tell her otherwise from Scripture she just hangs up on me every time and says "you beleive your way and I'll beleive my way!"

It's one thing speaking to those on that board who don't know me but nonetheless what do these people, as well as my family think I am trying to do? Where is my ulterior motive??? It's GOD'S TRUTH I am trying to reveal to them in Scripture but yet I am seen as some religious fanatic from another planet!

Anyhow I encourage those trying to witness to Cathlics to view that website and MY post in particular as linked here *admin edit* It was really an eyeopener as to just how satanically brainwashed Roman Catholics really.

Many denied that they re-sacrifice Jesus over and over....they just don't get it. That is precisely what the RC Priest is trying to do. Their denials of such were unbelievable.

It is a cult in every sense.

I was losing my patience with them as evident near the last page on the thread, but I tried to hold back my on emotions for the most part and instead putting on the armour of God in trying to reach them.

But it left me feeling as if I had entered a snake pit....and that's no joke.

No, sis, it is no joke. And seeing that the Lord has evidently laid these people on your heart, the best thing you can do is daily earnestly and fervently pray for them that the veil may be removed and they see the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

I've been there in Chat rooms and they will pick you apart. It is quite intimidating to say the least and will leave you feeling upset and frustrated.. That's normal.. Mockers critique us because God is "using them" to build your Character Sister.. we all fail but Jesus never fails and we get up and fight the good fight ---God knows your heart full of His love and compassion.. He's preparing you and it just takes time.

It depend what the Gospel it is you are trying to twist and defend with Scripture.

I was a RC for years and years and came to know the truth about the self-serving false teachings of the RCC.

It's the Gospel according to Jesus NOT the Gospel according to the RCC.

That is definitely my advice to my Catholic brothers and sisters when we talk to Evangelicals/Fundamentalists/Protestants.

Oh my oh my....then...growing up I became an altar boy and I still remember the many smacks on the head and :"YOU IDIOT....pass me the right ampoule's!!!!" from DON MARIO...the then pedophile sexual pervert priest of the time...until,I have been expelled from the altar boys group because I stole the red toga and cut it to make myself a RED GARIBALDI SHIRT ( at that time,I was 13,Garibaldi was my hero,not more now!) and of course later on I had to do THE FIRST COMMUNION and THE CHRISTENING that every little Italian boy loves to do because one receives lots of GIFTS ( like a watch,I received one from my dad( ehey.The Lord saved my dad and for 10 years he preached the true gospel and then dad went to be with Jesus which is FAR BETTER....) and lots of toys and the BIG meal with all the relatives coming to the food feasts and also all your cousins and friends so you can show off the presents and also you are wearing the "good suit" with a white band on your right sleeve ...and you feel so important....) and I remember that I did that stuff.\,I mean the first communion and all,because I was already an experienced sinner and I didn t want to go burn in PURGATORY ( what a JOKE!) and for sure not in THE ROMAN CATHOLIC HELL ( especially if you think that you have to be in company with all the popes and priests of all ages! shiver!)

After 3 months of intense mysticism,where I gulped more hosts ( I mean the RCC WAFER)
than one can conceive,and after I had been everyday to the confession box ( DINGY and DARK PLACE THAT BOX!) and recited 1 million acts of penitence,lit candles to every saint statue ( I didn't want miss one!)and prayed another million AVE MARIA ,one day,I said:STOP! SO,I LEFT THE RCC MOTHER and went in the open wide arms of LENIN,MARX and ENGELS and MAO TSE TUNG,EL CHE,HO CHI MIN,became my NEW HEROES!!!!

I'm confused.... aren't Catholics Christan? They believe in the Trinity of God and Jesus' teachings. So what is different with them outside of different ideas and practices. If they do their ideas and practices on the bible and its teachings and ask Jesus to come into their life aren't they save even though they're Catholic?

THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH ( please NOTE that the word CHRISTIAN is NOT EVEN in their denomination name) IS A BABYLONIAN CULT.

Ok, what you just said does answer a little of the 7 omitted books in the old testament. (from catholic Bible to KJV Bible) But now I still wonder of those books if they were of God's word. Or that they are from man and is just way to promote Their ways.

The apocryphal books were omitted from the Bible because they are clearly not of the same standard as those 66 books that were admitted. You will find a good online source outlining why these books are not in the Bible at Why the Apocrypha Isn't in the Bible.

The Aporcopyal book were added by the Council of Trent in 1546 (I believe). When putting the Bible together, their were numerous test it had to go to. Of course If Jesus used it then it was valid and was put in. Now there are some verses in NT that are taken from the Apocryphal books, HOWEVER just b/c one verse was taken from it DOES NOT mean that the Apocryphal books are God breathed, just that it was correct at that one point, b/c most of the Apocryphal books informations was passed down from generations. The Bible today is the complete inerent word of Almighty God it is COMPLETE. Jesus warned of those who took or added. Some did like the RCC and just about every other "Christian" cult.
