    Default Feeling Old

    Earlier this week, I went by the Dealership my youngest son is working at as a newly hired on Sales person. While there he wanted to show me around and see some of the vehicles. Later at home, I told my wife how "old" I felt seeing some of the new things available in cars these days. Some of the electronics in these vehicles just, well, made me feel old!

    I remembered a time in the past I had said this to my father. We were having a cookout over at Mom and Dad's house, had been a rather rough week at work and seeing all the kids running around and having fun, I mentioned to my Dad I feel old. He mentioned, do ya? Yep, was all I said. He answered back and said, when the day comes and you see all your children have reached the age of qualifying for AARP, THEN tell me how "old" you feel. Had to admit, he had a point...

    I had a sudden "old" feeling when I got an AARP card in the mail last year!

    Psalm 73:28

    28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
    I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
    I will tell of all your deeds.

    PJ -

    I hope you tossed the card in the recycle bin....
    Consider the words of Omar M. Ahmad, founder of CAIR: "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant." ... "The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America , and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."

    Getting old is not for sissies.
    Ephesians 5:18 (New King James Version)

    18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

    I Come To The Garden Alone Hymn

    And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
    And He tells me I am His own;
    And the joy we share as we tarry there,
    None other has ever known.

    Hmm, I'm about to be 40 years old this year and it all feels like I'm getting old. Though I do remember giving folks older than me grief for *gasp* being older than me. My oldest sibling is 12 years older than me. THAT is weird to think of him becoming 52 this year. And hey, I'm the "baby" of the family being the youngest of 5 children. Sigh, the journey has been fun though.

    I did the AARP thing when I became 'of age'. But dropped them just as quickly when learning what they were all about.

    The first time I felt really old was when a neighbor's son was getting onto his friend for questionable behavior and mentioned that the "old lady" might even call the police. I looked around for the "old lady" and realized that he meant me.
