Default Dishearted about a Pastor "friend"

Johnathon is the pastor of an emergent church in Albany NY. He posted a sign on his facebook (I'm sorry I have no idea how to post a picture on here, if somebody tells me I will gladly put it up). The sign says. "Freedom of religion means ALL religions, not just your own". The phrase is surrounded by pictures depicting most religions, including Islam, Buddhism, Hindu...Christianity is represented by a small cross in the bottom left corner.

Dianne: Yes, and Christ died for all our sins, even those who choose to ignore His gift

Johnathon: dianne You are just saying your religion is supreme to other peoples. . .

Dianne: If you truly have faith then ofcourse you believe it is superior, because it is the Truth. Christ, even as peaceful as he was, would denounce other religions. Christ is the only God that died and was resurrected. My faith is unwavering and my God is superior, since he is the Creator of All, and if you feel differently then I wonder what God you really praise. You can be a Christian, like I am, and accept that other's are going to practice their own religion (or cult), it doesn't mean we are not going to try to make others see how erroneous their belief's are, through love, not violence. The picture above is blasphemous to our God, he deserves more than to be batched with all the other religions. If you look at that cross, down in the bottom right corner and consider what it represents, then you would realize that that cross is larger than all. The Creator of all, the Savior of all, the Comforter of all who know Him deserves better than you have given Him credit for.

Amanda: that would make a great bumper sticker!

I don't know who Amanda is, but I left her comment up because I felt it was a great depiction of how people simply DO NOT care about defending the fundamentals of their beliefs. I met John when we went to college together, back in the early 90's. He and his wife lived in the same student housing complex I lived in. He was a wonderful Christian man back then, and I was so surprised when they found me on facebook about a year ago. Now I am not so sure that was a good thing. I think more than anything I am upset by this entire thing because John is a pastor, and he is leading others away from Christ. His beliefs are so off the wall, I had never heard of a "Christian" that believed such things before he told me what he preaches. God help them all.

I pray that God will continue to give me strength to stand up for Him and to be able to speak only His words and not my own. Please help me to be able to keep my emotions at bay and please protect my soul from even considering for a second what is being taught in these churches.

The leaven of liberal thought has infected almost every educational institution, including our seminaries. And the problem is the graduates read every expert-praised book of man and do not devote their energies to the Book of God.

    mattfivefour is right.

As sin and lawlessness continue til it is fully ripe, people come out for who they actually are-impostors. I don't know this pastor's heart but I do know that Jesus said we will recognize them by their fruit and that's not fruit from a good tree

"while evil men and impostors will go from bad to worse deceiving and being deceived"-2 Timothy 3:13

    In Jesus Name, Amen.

Amazing love! How can it be that Thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
