    Default The New America?

    Just read the following commentary from John C. Davis, President of the KSRM Radio Group in Alaska. He makes excellent points.

    "So…Has America become the land of the special interest and home of the double standard?

    "Let’s see….. if we lie to the Congress, it’s a felony and if the Congress lies to us it “just politics”; if a white person dislikes a black person ,they are a racist and if a black dislikes whites, it’s their first amendment right; our government spends millions to rehabilitate criminals and they do almost nothing for the victims; in our public schools you can teach that homosexuality is OK, but you better not use the word God in the process; you can kill a living unborn child, but its wrong to execute a mass murderer.

    "We don’t burn books in America, we now just rewrite them; We got rid of the communist and socialist threat by naming them progressives; we are unable to close our border with Mexico but have no problem protecting the 38th parallel in Korea with our young men; if you protest against President Obama’s policies his staff calls you a terrorist, but if you burned an American flag or George Bush in effigy it was your 1st Amendment right.

    "You can have pornography on TV or the Internet, but you better not put a nativity scene in a public park during Christmas; we have eliminated all criminals in America, they are now called sick people; we can use a human fetus for medical research, but it’s wrong to use an animal.

    "We take money from those who work hard for it and give it to those refuse to work; we all support the Constitution, but only when it supports our political ideology; we still have freedom of speech, but only if we are being political correct; parenting has been replaced with Ritalin and video games; the land of opportunity is now the land of hand outs; the similarity between Hurricane Katrina and gulf oil spill is that neither president did anything worthwhile to help.

    "And how do we handle a major crisis today? The government appoints a committee to determine who’s at fault, then threatens them, passes a law, raises our taxes and then tells us the problem is solved so they can get back to their reelection campaign. What has happened to the land of the free and the home of the brave?? Sounds like it is gone and may never return. In retrospect, the voting policy of some to never ever vote for an incumbent now sounds like a pretty good idea. Think About It!!"

    Christianity was too hard. God's Holy and merciful commands were too much to ask. Actually working for a living, coming home with an aching back and roughened hands was offensive. Responsibility and sobriety were a burden. Interpersonal respect meant equality, the opposite of elitism. Craftsmanship was too time consuming in the face of mass production. And of course, the more money, the merrier. "If it feels good, do it", the rallying cry of humanity in rebellion against the Lord. The times of Noah indeed...
    Psalm 73:28

    28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
    I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
    I will tell of all your deeds.

    Read the last verse in the book of Judges, and the first chapter of the book of Romans; that is what the US has become.

    If anyone has a doubt whether or not the United States is mentioned in scripture, I firmly believe Romans Chapter 1 is the place.

    Just read them - sure sounds like the sad state of USA's affairs. . .

    You're so right, Robert.
    Ephesians 5:18 (New King James Version)

    18 And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,

    I Come To The Garden Alone Hymn

    And He walks with me, and He talks with me,
    And He tells me I am His own;
    And the joy we share as we tarry there,
    None other has ever known.

    You know my mum always used to use an old Salvic saying "We are only guests in this world and this is not our home but just a temporary place on the way to our Eternal Destiny".

    Now as Christians "Eternal Destiny" means for us the Kigdom of God or Heaven. So don't worry about this world & what is happening to our Nations it isn't your home just a temporary place of residence.

    My house is about to have a two storey wall of houses next door with little to no light coming through for most of the day. The council only sees the dollars of all the rates they will get and don't care about my sunshine. Next winter I'm not sure when or how I am going to dry my clothes as there will be little sun to do that with and I had one room that would have sunshine throughout a cold winters day but not when they build these new houses next door. I was getting depressed about it but I recalled this saying. THIS is only temporary. I will cope somehow without my sunshine next winter. The greedy Developers and Council will get their money but I have Heaven to look forward to and hopefully we will be there soon.

    Indeed you do, sis. "By faith Abraham ... lived as an alien in the land of promise, as in a foreign land, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob, fellow heirs of the same promise; for he was looking for the city which has foundations, whose architect and builder is God ... having confessed that they were strangers and exiles on the earth. For those who say such things make it clear that they are seeking a country of their own. And indeed if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return. But as it is, they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God; for He has prepared a city for them." (Excerpted from Hebrews 11:8-16 NASB)

    If there was anything good in the former USA, it was there because The Lord put it there....and you can expect those good things to be present in the Millenial Kingdom and the New Jerusalem in such abundance that the former shadow won't even compare. It is sad to watch from afar the destruction of the finest and most free country the world ever knew outside David and Solomon's Israel....but it is a stepping stone to The Lord's Kingdom to which none compare. If The Lord wished to preserve the USA, rest assured He would have done so.

    This isn't to promote a nihilist or defeatist outlook, but a call to hold true to the Biblical values that are the sole reason for any goodness in the USA, or anywhere else. Even if your tormentors wear the uniform and fly the flag of your fathers, stand true to the God of your fathers.
