The following story showed up on AP's Michigan wire summary this morning:
ARAB FEST-CHRISTIANITY
Judge: Handbill restrictions stand at Arab fest
DEARBORN, Mich. (AP) -- A California man who tries to introduce Muslims to Christianity can't freely walk and distribute information at a popular Arab-American festival next week in suburban Detroit.
A judge says a ban on groups distributing literature on sidewalks at the Dearborn festival doesn't violate the First Amendment. U.S. District Judge Paul Borman says the festival is offering a free booth to George Saieg (saygh).
But the Anaheim, Calif., man says some Muslims may be afraid to approach him, so he wants to roam the sidewalks with handbills.
Dearborn authorities say the restrictions help control foot traffic. In his decision Monday, the judge says the Constitution doesn't guarantee the "best means of communication."
Saieg's lawyer is appealing.
