Default If you love America and are concerned ...

I'm going to do something here I have never done before ... but I feel strongly led to do it for my American brothers and sisters.

If you love America and are concerned about her, then I want to bring an event to your attention. Tonight at Family Worship Center in Baton Rouge, Dr. Peter John Marshall is going to be preaching a challenging message to America. Dr. Marshall is a noted Presbyterian preacher and an expert on America’s Christian Heritage. His father was twice the chaplain of the U.S. Senate and was the subject of an Oscar-nominated film A Man Called Peter. About him, Wikipedia writes in part:
The Reverend Dr. Peter Marshall (May 27, 1902 – January 26, 1949) ... twice served as Chaplain of the United States Senate.

Born in Coatbridge (North Lanarkshire), Scotland, Marshall heard a strong calling to the ministry at a young age. Despite having no money, he nevertheless migrated to New York in 1927 when he was 24. He graduated from Columbia Theological Seminary in 1931, when he became the pastor of First Presbyterian Church, a small, rural church in Covington, Georgia. After a brief pastorate, Marshall accepted a call to Atlanta's Westminster Presbyterian Church in 1933. It was in Atlanta that he met his future wife, Catherine Wood, a student at Agnes Scott College whom he married in 1936. Marshall became pastor of the New York Avenue Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C. in 1937 and was appointed twice as U.S. Senate Chaplain, serving from January 4, 1947 until his sudden death just over two years later. He was 46 years old ... He was survived by his wife and one son, Peter John Marshall.

Marshall's widow went on to write her husband's biography, A Man Called Peter which was later made into an Oscar-nominated film of the same title ... featuring Richard Todd as Peter Marshall, and Jean Peters as Catherine Marshall.... Catherine Marshall eventually wrote over 20 books, including many editions of her late husband's sermons, several inspirational books, and the best-selling novel Christy.

Marshall's son [Dr. Peter John Marshall] followed his father into the Presbyterian clergy and now runs a national ministry from Orleans, Massachusetts. He has also authored many books on the Christian faith in the United States.
I am not in the habit of openly recommending ministries and I am not recommending this one—either Dr. Peter John Marshall’s or that of the the pentecostal church he’s at tonight. But, after listening to a brief address by Dr. Marshall this morning, I do believe his message tonight is going to be one that will challenge many Christians in the United States and one from which many may profit. Service start time is 6 Central time and can be found live on your computer at Welcome to SonLife Broadcasting Network. If you don’t want to share in the worship part of the service, Dr. Marshall will probably start preaching somewhere around 6:30 or 6:45.

    Blessings.

    Matt

Thanks matt for sharing. I didn't see your post until 8 pm my time so I missed it. I wish I had seen him and listened to his message. Maybe next time
