Texas did not add as many jobs as previously thought in January
Texas added 14,800 jobs in January, which is lower than the 30,300 new jobs originally reported for the same month by the Texas Workforce Commission.
The TWC revised the number of jobs downward after changing its reporting of jobs added in the professional and businesses services industry.
According to the agency, updated data shows 4,200 professional services jobs were added in January as opposed to the original statistic of 20,900 jobs added.
Unemployment in Texas remains at 8.2 percent on a seasonally adjusted basis.
