    Default Independence Day Prayer

The following "Independence Day Prayer" came from an e-mail from WMIT-FM radio -- the station in North Carolina owned by Dr. Rev. Billy Graham's Billy Graham Evangelistic Association:
    Dear Lord,

There is no greater feeling of liberation than to experience this freedom from sin and death that you have provided for me through Jesus Christ. Today my heart and my soul are free to praise you. For this I am very thankful.

On this Independence Day I am reminded of all those who have sacrificed for my freedom, following the example of your Son, Jesus Christ. Let me not take my freedom, both physical and spiritual, for granted. May I always remember that my freedom was purchased with a very high price. My freedom cost others their very lives.

Lord, today, bless those who have served and continue to give their lives for my freedom. With favor and bounty meet their needs and watch over their families.

Help me to live my life in a way that glorifies you, Lord. Give me the strength to be a blessing in someone else's life today, and grant me the opportunity to lead others into the freedom that can be found in knowing Christ.

    Amen

When I got saved 3 years ago, it was reading one of Billy Graham's books(his son Franklin isn't a shabby writer himself either).

    Amen!

My prayer for your Independence day is that it is peaceful... and that N Korea doesn't make good on it's earlier threat. Hope you all have a great celebration.

    LOL!

Hey, Matt -- you're close enough, right? (Should've wished you a Happy Canada Day on Wednesday -- sorry 'bout that)!

Anyway, as hard as it is to remember, sometimes, we're, in the end, just "passing through," anyway!

    God Bless!

Read that one 3 years ago after that BG book I mentioned. EXCELLENT book!

I mean once he gave his life over to Christ, one of the miracles God gave him was STRIPPING his nicotene addiction. Remember that part where he started struggling at first, then when he complained to his father, his father gave him this, "Either you're with Jesus or against him" ultimatum(and one of his friends said something like, "If you really don't have faith, then kneel down and call God a liar!" - Franklin's response was SILENCE), and a week or so later when he went to light another cigerrette, his addiction was GONE.
