Unbelievable!

Hi all

! I'm new to the forum having accepting Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Saviour in August of 2011. My faith has been tested in so many ways with all the "other gospels" and false knowledge that has been floating around! It's really nice to join a forum with people who share the same beliefs without all the hate and Christian bashing that's been going on lately!

Now on to my main topic....

Is it just me or does it seem that the mass population are not even concerned with the impeding threats between Israel - Iran or Russia - USA?! I mean I can ask one of my friends or family what they think about the situations and they look at me like I have totally flipped my lid! Am I living in a bubble or something?! Do I have a bugger in my nose?!

It just seems lately when I ask anyone anything that doesn't have to do with Justin Beiber or American Idol I get the idle stare! It feels like I have been totally detached from the world and everyone else just keeps on living like nothing is going on. Is this normal or am I officially snapping up

...and yes I have also noticed that a lot of people don't pay attention to anything other than what affects their own personal bubble. A friend once told me, 'who cares about Israel? Have you seen the gas prices?' It's a sad state of affairs but, at least some of us care more about what's going on in the world (and that doesn't mean keeping up with the kardashians, or any housewives, or jersey person.)

Welcome to the forum. Most people work all day and feel like they need to relax in front of the tv at night. That's what they say when I ask them questions about all the news on the middle east. I also talk to people who are dedicated Christians and are eagerly watching and waiting for Jesus to come back. Great to have you here.

We are so glad to have a new member of the family.

You are right on target with your observations about Iran, Russia, Israel, etc. Since all of our extended family are professing Christians, but don't have much of a clue where end times events are concerned, I often get the 'brush off' too. It's natural for people to not want to discuss a topic they know so little about, so I just discuss it all with dh and the members of a Bible study group (who are informed) that we attend in a nearby community.

Hopefully, you will post here again soon and allow the rest of us to get to know you.

It's true: a lot of folks cannot seem to get past their own "personal sphere". The big problem with this kind of thinking is that we do not live in a "bubble"; what happens elsewhere WILL affect us. The idea that "keeping to ourselves" will insulate us from the reality that is about to unfold is foolish at best, and spiritually deadly at its' very worst.

I think it was Ben Franklin who warned of the dangers of fiction; trying to insulate ourselves in such a bubble is a type of fiction, and one we cannot afford if we wish to reach the lost in this world. It's a fine line between not reacting to every little story and rumor out there that turns out to be nothing, and responding to genuine events that line up with prophecy.

And prophecy is about to bite a lot of folks right in the hindquarters.

It sounds to me that you've made great strides in a very short time, and that's a good thing. You're learning that most people just want to put in as little effort as possible at their job, then come home and crash in front of the tube and be entertained by garbage. These people will watch the news from the main stream media and think they are current on world affairs

. The more you get into God's Word, the more your eyes will be opened to what is going on in the world and how these events are lining up with Bible Prophecy. And Robert's post above is absolutely right on!

There's a lot of great Christians here on this forum and I pray you receive as much joy in getting to know them as I have. And we all look forward to getting to know you.

Welcome to RF!! You are definitely not losing your mind, the rest of the world is!!

Seriously, people like the little bubble they have "created" for themsevles, kind of like a wolf likes his den. When the bubbles start popping people begin to look for safety and hopefully the truth.

I just pray more eyes are opened before Jesus comes to take His bride home.
