The White Star passenger-carrying ship, the Titanic, departed
from the port of Southampton, England heading for New York.
less then five days later, over 1500 souls perished.

Two hymns were played by the musicians onboard the ship as she was sinking.
One: Nearer My God to Thee.
Two: He Leadeth Me.

The designers and capitalists who designed, funded and built the ship
forgot about Psalm 107 and Psalm 118:8.

Psalm 107: 23-31.

"They that go down to the sea in ships, that do business in great waters;
These see the works of the Lord, and his wonders in the deep.
For he commandeth, and raiseth the stormy wind, which lifteth
up the waves thereof.
They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths: their soul is melted because of trouble.
They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are
at their wit's end.
Then they cry unto the Lord in their trouble, and he bringeth them out of their distresses.
He maketh the storm a calm, so that the waves thereof are still.
Then they are glad because they be quiet; so he bringeth them
unto their desired haven.
Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his
wonderful works to the children of men!"

NEARER, MY GOD, TO THEE.

Near - er my God, to thee, Near - er to Thee!
E'en tho it be a cross That raiseth me;
Still all my song shall be, Near-er, my God, to Thee,
Near-er, my God, to Thee, Near - er to Thee.

Tho like the wan - der -er, The sun gone down,
Darkness be o - ver me, My rest a stone,
Yet in my dreams I'd be,
Near-er, my God, to Thee, Near-er, my God, to Thee,
Near - er to Thee.

There let the way ap - pear, steps un - to heav'n;
All that Thou send - est me, in mercy giv'n-
An - gels to beck - on me, Near-er, my God, to Thee,
Near-er, my God, to Thee, near - er to Thee.

Then with my wak-ing thoughts, Bright with Thy praise,
Out of my ston - ey griefs, Beth - el I raise;
So by my woes to be, Near-er, my God, to Thee,
Near-er, my God, to Thee, Near - er to Thee.

Or if on joy - ful wing, Cleaving the sky,
sun, moon and stars for-got, Up - ward I fly,
Still all my song shall be, Near-er, my God, to Thee,
Near-er, my God, to Thee, Near - er to Thee.
