Any news about Pastor Chuck Smith health situation?
The latest is a combination of chemo and radiation to see if they can get the growth eliminated. Surgery is not something they want to do until the other measures are attempted. He is keeping his usual schedule around Costa Mesa and so far has been able to keep pace.
Thanks for the question, Roberto; and thanks for the answer, Chris Q.
If members are not praying for chuck, I encourage them to do so. God has used this man mightily ... first to be a vessel and an instrument to help bring a genuine work of the Holy Spirit out of the Jesus Movement of the hippie days ... and then to be a man to stand in the gap and preserve good doctrine in an emergent age through the Calvary Chapel movement he began.

Yes....I met him in Roma (1974) in one of his return trip to Israel with a great group of young believers ..among them many who became musicians for Maranatha music ....then in amazing circumstances Chuck invited me in Costa Mesa in 1983.....I spent a month there...great times then...
Let's pray for God's will to be accomplished in Chuck's life.
I love the man![]()
Update 5/3/12
Doctors have decided, at least for now, that Pastor Chuck is not a candidate for surgery. They are considering several treatment options, including the possibility of additional chemotherapy and radiation since the tumor was reduced but not eradicated. Please pray for God's intervention and comfort for Chuck and his family.

Pastor's conference is in about a month, and we will be getting a good read on things then. They will have had time for further assessment by early June.
