Chris isn't on at the moment. But I can answer your question. The man is Alistair Burt, Britain's Minister for the Middle East and North Africa. He is a Conservative who, based on his academic and political CV, is brilliant. He has a law degree from Oxford where he excelled. Interestingly, until he took on this new cabinet post he was a senior member of a group called the Conservative Friends of Israel. He also worked on behalf of Gilad Shalit, the Israeli soldier who was kidnapped and held for years by the Palestinians.
