Default A Retrospective Of The Jesus Revolution - Circa 1971 Time Magazine

The Alternative Jesus: Psychedelic Christ - TIME

I stumbled across this edition, and it caused me to reflect upon the year of my salvation, as well as the time and opportunities lost, not to mention the massive GIFTS of GRACE covering my waste.

KING JESUS is MERCIFUL beyond measure!

    What LOVE ...What SACRIFICE !!
Consider the words of Omar M. Ahmad, founder of CAIR: "Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant." ... "The Koran, the Muslim book of scripture, should be the highest authority in America , and Islam the only accepted religion on Earth."

Ah what great memories, bro! The people of that era are legend in my recollection: Chuck Smith, Keith Green, "Holy Hubert" Lindsey, Arthur Blessit, Larry Norman, Bill Bright, Erskine Holt, Lonnie Frisbee, Don Finto ... the names roll on!

Actually anybody who was not part of that scene should read the Time article you linked to. The Church that is alive today in North America (and in parts of Europe) owes much of its life to the Jesus Movement that the Holy Spirit created in a generation of dropped out, turned on youth who were heading right down the tubes. Satan set out to destroy an entire generation of young people with drugs, free sex, and demonic eastern religions. God had other plans. Many of the hippies became born-again, Spirit-filled, totally on fire Christians who re-ignited the faith in many of the mainstream assemblies as well as starting new assemblies like those of the Calvary Chapel fellowship.

    Thanks for resurrecting this, Glenn!
