Default House Hunters International in Jerusalem

Right now on the Travel Channel they are airing an episode of HHI. The episode is following a Messianic Jew that is bringing her family from the United States to their homeland of Isreal. They are showing her walk around the "Old City" and showing the roads from 1000's of years ago, showing where our Lord Jesus walked.

Watching it makes me feel homesick. Not because I am from Isreal, or even a Jew and I have never been to Jerusalem before, it just makes me want to be close to something that Jesus touched. I would love to go to Isreal.

There is just this draw to go see all the things that Jesus touched, walk the mountains he walked, take a look at the Sea he walked on. Just retrace his steps and draw even closer to God, see the wall of the temple where our God used to dwell.

I know that God is with me all the time in the form of the Holy Spirit. It's just when you love somebody so much all you desire is to be closer to them, anyway you can. Call me a stalker if you will, but I will gladly admit I stalk our Lord Jesus.

I am going to talk to my husband and see if we can somehow budget a trip to Isreal in the coming year, providing peace remains in the country. My husband works for an airline that flies into Isreal, they fly into Tel Aviv, I do not know how far that is from Jerusalem, but it would be worth the drive to see everything. We can fly international flights for just the cost of the taxes so getting there wouldn't be very expensive. I pray we can make this happen.

My uncle went for a visit when he was stationed in Bahrain. He said that it was so cool to walk the Trail of Tears.....but then he said that he also recorded the 'call to prayer', which at the time I didn't know was a muslim practice. I also had a college friend who was getting ready to marry his Jewish girlfriend, and then they were moving to Israel. Even though they were both American, and had never been there before, he said that his girlfriend felt compelled to move there.
