My wife is an agnositic and I can't just say Jesus loves you. So, yeah I kind of know how you feel. Like I'm praying for God to open my wife's eyes, I pray that he opens your customer's.

Why can't you say Jesus loves her? I said it to my husband's best man (who's an atheist) when I was talking to him about God, and Jesus...it brought tears to his eyes. I don't claim to know the mind of God, or Jesus, so I can't presume that He DOESN'T love them. Sometimes, the knowledge of being loved by a knowable, personal, God, that can be a tipping point.

Just keep in mind that we are here just to sow the seed. It's not our job to convert people. That's the Holy Spirit's.

Here's a web site that might help you: James G. McCarthy and http://www.jamesgmccarthy.com/books.shtml
He is a former Catholic and writes booklets/books with them in mind.

Also, Dave Hunt has a book called, 'The Woman Rides the Beast' which might help you as you try to understand the nature of this false belief system.
God bless you for earnestly contending for the faith. Most of us (me) wouldn't have had the courage to engage someone in biblical debate such as you did.
    Well done!

She's the type of person that shuts down if you shove your beliefs down her throat. In your face doesn't work with her. Very stubborn. I can just pray that the she sees the changes God is making in me and that I can be a witness. If that makes sense.

Being a witness speaks louder than speaking a witness. Christ told us to BE witnesses for Him.

    myinnuendo,

God Bless you my little sister for contending for the faith and sharing the Blessed Hope that is within you.

I am a former Catholic. I was a cradle Catholic, meaning I was born into the religion. All of my family is Catholic, French and Italian Catholic for centuries past. It is a brain washing cult and only the Word of God can help them.

The Scripture regarding necromancy calling upon or praying to the dead (praying to Mary or dead saints) is in Deuteronomy Chapter 18

Deu 18:10 There shall not be found among you [any one] that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, [or] that useth divination, [or] an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,

Deu 18:11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.

Deu 18:12 For all that do these things [are] an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

    The dictionary definition of necromancy:
    nec·ro·man·cy   [nek-ruh-man-see] Show IPA
    noun
    1. a method of divination through alleged communication with the dead; black art.
    2. magic in general, especially that practiced by a witch or sorcerer; sorcery; witchcraft; conjuration.

    Catholics also believe in purgatory:

pur·ga·to·ry   [pur-guh-tawr-ee, -tohr-ee] Show IPA noun, plural -ries, adjective
    noun
    1. (in the belief of Roman Catholics and others) a condition or place in which the souls of those dying penitent are purified from venial sins, or undergo the temporal punishment that, after the guilt of mortal sin has been remitted, still remains to be endured by the sinner.

In rebuttal God's Word says: Hbr 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

The Catholic church does not teach the whole counsel of God's Word. They teach portions along with Dogma and traditions and man made rules and rituals.

Just pray that the Holy Spirit will lead you and give you the words necessary as to what to say to this man.

I agree that you should not go alone, but take a pastor or a strong Christian male with you if you choose to share the Gospel with him. You could also give him a book as suggested.

You did well in sharing what you did and the Holy Spirit is working on his heart as is evidenced by his calling and wanting to speak further regarding this.

God Bless you and keep you

Titus 2: 1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine: 3The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; 4That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, 5To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

    nillapoet,

Jesus does love you wife. Jesus says in Jhn 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you.

Jhn 15:13 Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

He laid down His life for "all" sinners, me, you, your wife.......everyone

He paid the supreme sacrifice and went to His death on the Cross that we all might have life eternal and forgiveness of sins. That is "love".

    Praying for you wife.
