    Unhappy Euthanasia.

In the uk news today has been talk about euthanasia and the right to die. Now I have been thinking about the last day or so about the church really needs to start speaking out against this sort of thing, what I mean is suppose someone has an important operation the doctor or whoever will go through the details mentioning any pit falls etc that the person can back out if they want. This is what the church is falling down on because where are the church when they should be saying to these people and giving some sort of guidance to these would be suicide people about the pitfalls of committing euthanasia and the likelyhood of euthanasia not being the end of pain, suffering etc, but the beginning of eternal torment. So in effect these people are being ill-advised and cannot make any real informed decision, I really feel for these people, its a bit like someone going on a train ride and the person saying bye to them knows that the bridge is out a few mile out and they will almost certainly be killed and saying absolutly nothing about it, you would say it is criminal not to say anything, but that is what the church is doing with these people. Just a thought.

Yes, this is an issue to consider... There is keen concern that adult children of the elderly would, in some cases, pressure parents to just let go so the estate can be distributed. Great post, Daygo.

There was a woman in Australia who had some sort of virus and it took away most of her body functions. She was in a wheelchair. I recall the virus affected her muscles throughout her whole body and she could barely speak.

Before she got that bad she had her family beg the Australian Government to introduce Euthinasia. She was really behind it.

Well Australia didn't do so and still stands against it. This woman miraculously got better and recovered. She was only in her early fifties. In the meantime while she was so sick she became a grandmother. The media did a follow up on this woman and she had changed her tune. She was thankful she wasn't able to take her own life.

Now her illness was one of these things the doctors didn't know much about and found out through this woman there was a chance of the virus just running it's course and the person recovering. Can you believe it this woman had been affected badly by this virus for a number of years but it went as mysteriously as it came. She is living a full life again re-learning to walk and rebuilding her body and enjoying her gandchildren.

I can't recall the woman's name but I do recall she was located in Melbourne and this was a few years ago now.

I know some diseases there is no recovery from them like MS and Parkinson's but you do not know if every condition or disease is premanent.

I've done a web search but I actually found a few of articles of people recovering from an illness that were pro-euthanasia but now against it after they have recovered. None of them matched this story that I recall. Interesting there are a few news articles saying you might recover from a dibilitating disease and that is why we should not suppot euthanasia.
