The Lying Paraphrased Bibles
My teachers were often so frustrated with my not knowing much English I was often punished.
Using a different color to respond to this....wow, Hannah that is really terrible! I'm so sorry that happened to you! My heart goes out to you that you had to endure this.

As I grew older and went through school I was belittled and laughed at for not knowing some simple slang word or term (mainly by my classmates). At High School I hung around the Ethinic girls of my own background or Greek and Italians and some Asian girls. We were academically good but socially akward. You would think it would have ended at school but I had the same childish reactions to my naiveness to some common English or Australian phrases at work.
How frustrating to have to continue to deal with that! Too bad we didn't meet, I LOVE accents...and the kids from other countries were always much nicer..I thought.
When my grammar and spelling and even wording goes down in standard you know I am getting comfortable with you and trust you not to laugh at me. Unfortunately I never do feel fully able to make mistakes in front of others too many times I have been belittled or laughed at over the years. So I go into Old age as a person who is unfortunately sensitive in this area of my life. I guess it's a pride thing. I know it is my Achilles Heel.
Well, thank goodness we are not saved by having the right accent or proper grammer!! Thankfully it's our faith in Christ that makes us acceptable. I love how God's word tells us that we belong, we are part of His family! Hannah, you belong, you are loved and accepted in Christ.
