Cross Don't know what to title this.

So. Um, I was under attack earlier today by the enemy, and it tried to pull me away from Christ. I accidently let myself slip and fell, but like ten minutes later fell to my knees and renounce the devil and begged God forgive me.
I'm scared now. I've asked Christ back, but am I back at square one? Or is it just the devil scaring me?
I'm scared God hasn't forgiven me, even though I begged for forgiveness and asked Christ back.
    Hi!

Listen to Kist, Sophie, he's right. We all make all sorts of mistakes, which is generally how we learn to recognize what mistakes are and how they work. When we catch ourselves, we go to the Lord for forgiveness, and try not to do it again.
    Psalm 73:28

28 But as for me, it is good to be near God.
    I have made the Sovereign Lord my refuge;
I will tell of all your deeds.

What you need to remember in this is that Satan tries to envoke such guilt so that you are not of use to the kingdom.

Great replies from all. It is nice to know when we fall He is always there to catch us.

    I love this verse.
    Romans 5:20b,
"...Where sin abounded Grace abounded much more."

    Praise Him always!
    In Christ,

Daniel 12:3 (New King James Version)

Those who are wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever.

1JN 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
Jesus is constantly interceeding for us when we sin. God knows we are not perfect and will sin from time to time even after we are Saved. So God provided for that as well.

Satan is just trying to plant doubt in your mind.

Something that helped me years ago was when a Minister preached on how God was our Father. The Minister explained the following about God and our Sin.

God is like any parent. He is a loving Father who wants to see His children do well in life.

God loved us so much He provided the payment for our Sins. Plural as in many.

God also knows we are not perfect yet and can sin even after repenting and receiving Christ as our Lord and Saviour. God like any loving parent doesn't just throw us out of the house or disown us when we sin. No like our parents He disciplines us so that we will get back on the straight path and do what is right.

God gave us a conscience and this enables us to know when we have sinned. Our response to this conscience is to heed it and as you did stop doing what we have been shown by it as being Sin. Then we return to a right relationship with God. Just like our parents who give us a little smack or other discipline like no TV, they point out why we are being punished and expect afterwards that we don't continue with that bad behaviour, that is what God does with us.

So know you feel bad about Sinning because of your conscience it is there to give you a warning not to make you feel guilty. If you stop what you are doing and return to God you are promised by God's Word to get forgiveness and be right with God once again. Dont let Satan keep you feeling guilty or convince you to punish yousrself for what you did. The Sin you just stopped doing and repented of has been dealt with and God is pleased with you once again. Nothing further is required. God would only like for you not to go back and do it again like any parent. If you do it again you will be dealt with again by God but you don't need to fear you have lost your salvation. God is like a loving parent He disciplines us not disowns us.

HEB 12:4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood. 5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you as sons:

"My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline,
and do not lose heart when he rebukes you,

HEB 12:6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves,
and he punishes everyone he accepts as a son."

HEB 12:7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what son is not disciplined by his father? 8 If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then you are illegitimate children and not true sons. 9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father of our spirits and live! 10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best; but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his holiness. 11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.
You know LOVING parents take the time to discipline and correct their children. You are being dealt with because God LOVES you. Isn't that wonderful to know that you are God's kid and He wants to keep you on the straight and narrow.

The Lord rebuke you, Satan! Sophie, you just tell Old Splitfoot to take a hike. He is a liar and loves to try and make us doubt the goodness of our Heavenly Father. He did it with Eve in the Garden and he is still doing it today. Don't you listen to him for one second! God has made provision for all who are His children, in other words all those who have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior. 1 John 1:9 should give you the assurance you are forgiven. Don't forget that God forgave Peter who called God to witness a lie, namely that he never knew Jesus. In fact the Greek phrase "denied with an oath" in Matthew 26:72 tells us that Peter said words to the effect that "I don't know Jesus and may God strike me down if I am lying." So tell Satan to get lost. You are safe in Christ.
