Default One of my brother told me that I was just jealous!!!!!!

I have several older brothers the youngest of the brothers, who is a year older than me, told me that "I was just jealous of the virgin Mary". He said this because I very politely told him a scripture that says that Jesus is the only mediator between God and man. That we are not to pray to her. I guess his friends are Catholic as is my parents. I just found this to be a very odd statement that could not be further from the truth. I respect Mary and see her as a good example of someone who is faithful to the Lord. She is special, but, I do not want to pray to her, just Jesus.

I find this extra odd because he does not even attend any church at all.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Then he asked: "sirs, what must I do to be saved"?. They told him: "believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shall be saved, and thy household".

    Act 16:30,31

    Jesus saved me.

first of all people should me made clear that Mary was human just like us but she had a special purpose to carry the lord in her womb we need to respect her and not worship her . Jesus is God nothing less than that .He is part of the trinity. scripture clearly tells us that Mary had her own natural children apart from Jesus.worshiping Mary is nothing less than idol ism ." you are just jealous of the virgin Mary" is just an immature attempt to refute your arguments since he didn't find anything scriptural to argue against you
just pray for him so that the lord reveals him the truth.
    Mark 3:31-35

31Then Jesus' mother and brothers arrived. Standing outside, they sent someone in to call him. 32A crowd was sitting around him, and they told him, "Your mother and brothers are outside looking for you."

33"Who are my mother and my brothers?" he asked.

34Then he looked at those seated in a circle around him and said, "Here are my mother and my brothers! 35Whoever does God's will is my brother and sister and mother."
I consider everything a loss compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord Philippians 3:8

He needs lots of prayer, he is rather immature for his age as he puts "friends and partying before family and God". I say this because he was very callous in his tone and facial expressions when he had spoken these words to me. I did not appreciate them one bit; in spite of it all, I just held back and continued to be polite.

snowfox, did you get the full import of vicky25's post? it's a very, very hard teaching. with tears in my eyes, i know, i have to apply it to my own family. there are those who are "flesh and blood", but not "of the spirit". Jesus said those who do the will of "my Father", that's who family is. it's tough, it really is, to try to witness to them and they won't listen. praise God you're trying, but they alone are responsible for how they choose to respond to His calling. God will bless you for trying, but you can't make the decisions for them.

Thank you for your humble, yet, very inspiring reply. Vicky25 did indeed give strong scriptural support and advice.
