Default Israeli archaeologists find rare ancient jewelry at Megiddo, site of the Biblical Armageddon

Israeli archaeologists have discovered a rare trove of 3,000-year-old jewelry, including a ring and earrings, hidden in a ceramic jug near the ancient city of Megiddo, where the New Testament predicts the final battle of Armageddon.

Archaeologists who unearthed the jug during excavations at the site in 2010 left it in a laboratory while they waited for a molecular analysis of what was inside. When they were finally able to clean it, pieces of gold jewelry — a ring, earrings, and beads — dating to around 1100 B.C. poured out.

Aren Maeir, an archaeologist at Bar Ilan University, said that because the raw materials used come are not from the area, the find “tells us about international relations ... and about technical traditions used at the time.”

Megiddo was an important trade center in ancient times. According to the New Testament, Megiddo will be the site of the final apocalyptic battle between good and evil.

There were Egyptians living in Canaan during king Saul & David's reigns.
David while living when Saul ruled over Israel 1099-1059 B.C. encountered an Egyptian slave whose life he saved. (1 Samuel 30:11-15) David 1059-1019 B.C. while king slew an Egyptian carrying a spear (2 Samuel 23:21) Egyptian king Psusennes I 1099-1049 B.C. Egyptians sold themselves into slavery as well as some Egyptians becoming mercenaries. EGYPTIANS LIVING IN CANAAN AREAS UNOCCUPIED BY ISRAEL LIKELY MADE THE JEWELRY AT THIS TIME IN HISORY. (Dates given in Biblical Chronological Time where Solomon's real reign was discovered at 1019-979 B.C. Exodus 1495 B.C. and the Judah kings reigns ending at 586 B.C.
Egyptian Libyan king Shishak (1 Kings 14:25) actually attacks Jerusalem in 974 B.C. in Rehoboam's 5th year and Shishak died a few months later as my past historical research shows)Great archaeological discovery!

More evidence the Bible is a historically accurate book as we witness in these last days before the rapture.

Egyptian king Ramses XI reign civil war was being fought around Thebes. The Egyptian priesthood controlled about 80% of Egypt's wealth. Ramses XI sent Wenamun to Byblos where Wenamun was robbed. Egyptian king Smendes reign the civil war still raged around Thebes. Smendes so poor sends Assyrian king Tiglath-Pilesar I a crocodile as tribute. Gold and silver were still in the priesthood hands. Egyptian king Neferkare so little is known. Egyptian king Psusennes I daughter Isiemkheb married the High Priest Menkheperre becoming quite wealthy. The trade route to Byblos was also opened. Archaeologist found Psusennes I golden death mask and other expensive artifacts in his tomb.

The Egyptian settlement at Armageddon can be dated to Psusennes I reign in the days when king Saul reigned over Israel.

I just read an awesome article on the conquest of Shishak (Sheshong) in the latest BAR magazine, last night!! If you would not have brought this up I would have guessed exactly the same!!

How Sheshonq Became Shishak | The BAS Library

You need a subscription to read it. I could send you a pdf by email if you want to look at it. I should not post it publicly.

    God Bless!!

Here is the public sidebar to one of the pages that is free:

    How Sheshonq Became Shishak

Sidebar to: Did Pharaoh Sheshonq Attack Jerusalem?

Pharaoh Sheshonq (or Shoshenq1) I reigned from about 945 to 925 B.C.E. In the Bible, however, he is referred to as Shishak, rather than Sheshonq (or Shoshenq).
The reason is technical but simple. In Hebrew, the sounds “n” and “m” are what linguists call “weak,” and are sometimes dropped. This is especially true in proper names. For example, we know that the city of Gath was spelled Ginti or Gimti in Egyptian inscriptions. And Hebrew Makkedah was spelled Manqedah in Aramaic.
So it is no surprise that the Egyptian name Sheshonq became Shishak in the Hebrew Bible. The “n” has simply been dropped. As far as the shift from “q” to “k,” that’s just a matter of transliteration. Shishak would more correctly be spelled Shishaq, but Shishak is the spelling found in most English Bibles.

Those who are wise shall shine
Like the brightness of the firmament,
And those who turn many to righteousness
Like the stars forever and ever.
