I don't buy this web-based Times of Israel report at all. I think it is bunkum.

Here's why.

1.) The Times of Israel website is financed by the apolitical Jewish-American financier Seth Klarman. Klarman is an anti-Zionist Jew if there ever was one. Seth lives in Boston, MA, USA. He is vehemently opposed to Jewish settlement in Eretz Israel, i.e. Judea and Samaria. That means his bottom line is standing against Likud and against Netanyahu's Pro-Israel policies.

2.) This report informs Israel's enemies that they are free to launch a preemptive military strike upon Israel anytime between now and October 2012 guaranteeing Natanyahu an electoral loss for his failing to act decisively when he had the chance, i.e. between right now and this summer.

3.) Conversely to the above, why would Netanyahu be dumb enough to wait until after an October 2012 election, decisive action now would guarrantee him a win in October and make Obama's life miserable because Obama would have to no choice but to support Israel less he lose the November election because he abandoned America's closest ally while that nation was at war (American people overwhelming are in favor of a US-Israeli or unilateral Israeli preemptive strike upon Iran).

Actually, Sean, the election is being moved up to September, not October. While I agree with you completely that Times of Israel is a dubious source, the election date is, nevertheless, being moved up. I think, the Times report was an attempt to disclose a likely scenario to thwart it from happening. After all, moving the election up a year and launching an attack at a time Obama's hands would be tied to condemn Israel, would, in fact, be excellent timing. The Times showed who they owe allegiance to by putting all this out there. Just as the Obama Administration has preemted Israeli strikes by disclosing possible plans, I think the Times is likely doing the same.

I don't know that Israelis ARE behind a strike . . .they seem to be rather lukewarm on the subject. But I DO think Israel will strik sooner rather than later. If this story provides Iran with a false since of security until October . . .then that could only be a GOOD thing.

Actually, Claire, I understand that since Netanyahu just today announced the date of the new elections in Israel.

My previous Friday, 4 May assessment remains unchanged. September or October, either month severely limits Usurper Obama's ability to press for further Israeli concessions as a campaign issue and keeps the pressure on the Iranians.
