Apparently it is only bullying or intolerance when it doesn't comply with their own agenda.

Notice how brave this sissy is hiding behind a video screen?

    By Todd Starnes

As many as 100 high school students walked out of a national journalism conference after an anti-bullying speaker began cursing, attacked the Bible and reportedly called those who refused to listen to his rant “pansy assed.”

The speaker was Dan Savage, founder of the “It Gets Better” project, an anti-bullying campaign that has reached more than 40 million viewers with contributors ranging from President Obama to Hollywood stars. Savage also writes a sex advice column called “Savage Love.”

Savage, and his husband, were also guests at the White House for President Obama’s 2011 LGBT Pride Month reception. He was also invited to a White House anti-bullying conference.

Savage was supposed to be delivering a speech about anti-bullying at the National High School Journalism Conference sponsored by the Journalism Education Association and the National Scholastic Press Association. But it turned into an episode of Christian-bashing.

Rick Tuttle, the journalism advisor for Sutter Union High School in California, was among several thousand people in the audience. He said they thought the speech was one thing – but it turned into something else.

“I thought this would be about anti-bullying,” Tuttle told Fox news. “It turned into a pointed attack on Christian beliefs.”

Tuttle said a number of his students were offended by Savage’s remarks – and some decided to leave the auditorium.

“It became hostile,” he said. “It felt hostile as we were sitting in the audience – especially towards Christians who espouse beliefs that he was literally taking on.”

Tuttle said the speech was laced with vulgarities and “sexual innuendo not appropriate for this age group.” At one point, he said Savage told the teenagers about how good his partner looked in a speedo.

The conservative website CitizenLink was the first to report about the controversy. They interviewed a 17-year-old girl who was one of students who walked out of the auditorium.

“The first thing he told the audience was, ‘I hope you’re all using birth control,’” she told CitizenLink. “he said there are people using the Bible as an excuse for gay bullying, because it says in Leviticus and Romans that being gay is wrong. Right after that, he said we can ignore all the (expletive deleted) in the Bible.”

As the teenagers were walking out, Tuttle said that Savage heckled them and called them pansy-assed.

“You can tell the Bible guys in the hall they can come back now because I’m done beating up the Bible,” Savage said as other students hollered and cheered. “It’s funny as someone who is on the receiving end of beatings that are justified by the Bible how pansy-assed people react when you push back.”

The executive director of the National Scholastic Press Association provided Fox News with joint statement from the Journalism Education Association that was sent to members – after a number of people complained about Savage’s remarks.

“We appreciate the level of thoughtfulness and deliberation regarding Dan Savage’s keynote address,” the NSPA wrote. “some audience members who felt hurt by his words and tone decided to leave in the middle of his speech, and to this, we want to make our point very clear: While as a journalist it’s important to be able to listen to speech that offends you, these students and advisers had simply reached their tolerance level for what they were willing to hear.”

The NSPA said they did not have a prior transcript of Savage’s speech and that wish “he had stayed more on target for the audience of teen journalists.” They also said it provided a “teachable moment” for students.

As for Savage’s attack on people of faith?

“While some of his earlier comments were so strongly worded that they shook some of our audience members, it is never the intent of JEA or NSPA to let students get hurt during their time at our conventions,” they wrote.

However, not once did the NSPA or the JEA offer any apologies to the students or faculty advisors or anyone else in attendance.

Savage did offer a sarcastic apology “if I hurt anyone’s feelings.”

“But I have a right to defend myself and to point out the hypocrisy of people who justify anti-gay bigotry by pointing to the Bible and insisting we must live by the code of Leviticus on this one issue and no other.”

Tuttle said that he “felt duped” by the event. “There were Christian schools who went to the conference. To have this happen was disappointing and shocking.”

The NSPA said they should have done a better job preparing schools for what to expect.

For his part, Tuttle said that he will definitely be more cautious about the speakers at future conventions.Tuttle related how Savage told students that for a number of years he was not allowed in schools. He told the students that because it’s gained national acceptance “he’s reveling in the fact that it’s basically a middle finger to all those teachers and administrators who wouldn’t let him have access to those students before.”

But for some of Tuttle’s students – they felt like the anti-bullying activist was in fact – the bully.

Guess he was trying to give a demonstration of bullying.

Seriously, though, his militant gay agenda is the cause for his hatred of God and his displacement of that hatred to those who love God.

I don't know where he got the twisted idea of being opposed to being gay as the same as hatred for gays. He doesn't realize that we as christians don't hate gays. Or shouldn't anyway. This world is getting out of control.

One things gets me about all of this, and that is where was all the conecern about bullying when I was being bullied in high school? I guess it wasn't that important when people couldn't gain political points off of it. Since I was a heterosexual male than that wasn't that important? I call hypocrite on this. We ARE told to love the sinner, but to hate the sin. I guess he must feel proud of himself that he became a bully to Christians. Two people I have known who have been the most "homophobic"; and I'd really like another word for it, have been athesists. When it comes down to it sexual promiscuity of any kind is a sin, and that includes homsexuality. Sodomy is a really bad idea regardless of who it is doing it. The rectum just is not intended to be treated that way. What makes more sense, hoping that people will have some common sense and decorum, or expecting others to pay for the decisions they have made in their lives. And it what people do in the privacy of their own homes is their own business, then why don't the keep it in the privacy of their own homes?

Those who support being Gay have entered the anti-bullying movement only because they are Gay or support Gays. They don't care about anyone who is bullied and is not Gay.

Of course he was anti-Christian because he thinks Christians are behind the anti-Gay feelings that feed bullying of Gays.

So he is not about anti-bullying at all but simply pro-Gay.

What can you do?? The world hates us because we point out their Sins and they want to Sin without guilt. The thing they don't realise is their guilt doesn't come from the existence of a Bible or Christians that follow it.

God have mercy on the Lost, amen.

This is truly a sad thing.....not only this poor bullied person, who became a bully....but the fact that he simply never understood that the Holy Word of God NEVER said to bully him because he was gay...but the fake Kristians who only think of God for one hour a week (other than to say thanks for the food, cute now i lay me down to sleep prayers, and to take His name in vain) who use the Word to justify their own heinous behavior.

I pray that someday, someone helps him see the error of his ways. Not just for being gay, but because he's so full of hate.

The judgment of God fell on Sodom and Gomorrah when the sodomites came against God's servants (Lot and the angels).

The judgment of God fell on wicked Belshazzar and the Babylonians when they had taken the Temple goblets and used them in their drunken party (Daniel 5).

Romans, chapter one reveals the Wrath of God (Romans 1:18) and then describes the appearance of the sodomite (Romans 1:26,27).

The sodomite is again making a prominent appearance in the public domain and railing against the people and things of God.

IMHO, the rapture and the judgment of God (Revelation 6) is nearing.

What bothers me the most is the "Nearly endorsing of this lost individual" by the Scholastic world. They were propagating his hatred of Christians by not apologizing and supporting those hurt. The laughter of the teens and mass quantity makes my heart sick.

Welcome to the end of this age. The teenagers applauding this clown just tells me that our future is bleak without Jesus's intervention. We can see how much our schools have decayed since they kicked God out. But bravo to the other kids having the guts to walk out.

Exactly. They'd make us put on boxing gloves and knock it out of each other. That pretty much took care of any bullying or picking on each other for the rest of the year.

I read this until I saw the words "Savage and his Husband."

After I got done throwing up, I stopped reading. No need read further. I dismiss this tard out of hand, and anything he has to say, the hypocrite.

Sorry if that sounds a bit harsh, but I simply cannot listen to these idiots any longer.

    It says in Romans 1

21Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools

Yes and God gave them over to a debased mind to do what was unfitting. I find the phrase "Gave them over" or "Gave them up" to be very interesting.

The Greek word paradidomai literally means "to give from close beside." Thus it means "to hand over to someone or something." They wanted their independence from God and the enjoyment of these destructive sins so badly that God finally said, "Here you go. Have at it." And so they are no longer in God's hands but in the hands of him who first sinned: Satan. What a terrifying thing to have happen!

Of course, according to the teaching of Scripture, God's desire in doing so is that they become so sin-sick and so crushed by their imprisonment by Satan that they will turn back to Him. And just like the father of the prodigal son, He will be watching for them and run to them as they turn to Him.

Wow that man has a lot of hate in him. One might say his cup runneth over with it. Sad...very sad to see. Even sadder to hear all the cheering for that hatred.

The things that always get me are (1) the incorrect usage of scripture - taken without context; (2) the incorrect teaching of history; (3) and the almighty "truth" of what they call science.

The last point is one that I do not understand - unless you view it through an understanding of the fact that their hatred/agenda has blinded them to everything else. So if science has determined that there is no God and subsequently evolution is the way that all life has manifested itself on Earth....and from that the theories of Darwin on evolution hold true....if homosexuality is not sin, but a genetic predisposition, then would it not be evolution manifesting itself in a "failed" trait that would naturally remove itself from the gene pool over time? In that same vein, would not alcoholism also then be a "failed" genetic trait that would also naturally remove bad genetic material from that same gene pool over time?

Questions like these raise counter arguments stating because human kind is the progenitor of complex socio-philosophical relationships there are alternatives. Meaning that there is "treatment" for alcoholism; anger; drugs and so on. These individuals must be trained to think anew. To discover a higher purpose through positive thinking and group oriented "self help." When this discussion turns to homosexuality, the "treatment" is a retraining of the mind through group oriented "self help" to embrace the new age morality of "Your truth is your truth, and my truth is my truth." This is all couched in the seemingly warm embrace of terminology like - dialogue; understanding; no more hate; love.

Yet another example of the exact opposite of Christ being exalted as truth and the way to life. The sad truth is that a combination of fear; sin hardened hearts; and self absorption have created a spiritual sludge that covers their eyes and dulls their ears. They do all they can to silence what should be a giant loud knock at the proverbial door. The one that is backed by the truth of the Lord's existence; the truth of the Lord's creation; the truth of the only way to true life; and the truth concerning the consequences of rejecting it all. for these folks...they truly need it.

Lastly, this is but one example of just how dark a world can be without Christ.

Pray Re: Anti-Bullying Speaker Curses Christian Teens

I remember talking to my oldest brother about the death of the atheist Madeline Murray O'Hare and the rumor that she and her family had been horribly tortured before they were murdered and my brother asked, "I wonder who she cried out to when all of her life she denied the existance of God?'' I feel the same could happen to this man and with his final breath who will he cry out to when denying God's exisitance?
This cursing Christians and calling God's word prophane names is a terrible and denying God is a horrible sin.
I also think this man is typical of many liberals as they seem to feel that everyone is entitled to their own opinion and free speech as long as it does not conflict with their belief and as another poster predicted this will be more and more common as time goes on and Jesus words of how they hated Him before they hated us rings true. He must be hurt with this attitude.
I guess we have to keep this man in our prayers and pray for the students that hear his words.

God's Best to All of You,
    Alice
