Default Randall Price Posts Republican Candidate Views on Israel

    Romney - Gingrich - Santorum

    Of Note:
"Let’s examine the record. The differences become clear when they discuss “the Palestinians” and the so-called peace process. Former Pennsylvania Governor Rick Santorum, whose campaign has been struggling recently, was questioned by a young voter about the Palestinians right to an independent state in the West Bank (Judea and Samaria) and Santorum responded sharply, saying, “There is no Palestinian people” and defending Israel’s right to call as its own land won in a defensive war (The 1967 Six Day War). Similarly, Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich has referred to the Palestinians as “an invented people” that was never a nation, and, elaborating on this at an ABC News debate, “Somebody ought to have the courage to tell the truth. These people are terrorists. They teach terrorism in their schools. They have textbooks that say ‘if there are 13 Jews and 9 Jews are killed, how many Jews are left?’ We pay for those textbooks through our aid money. It’s time for somebody to say enough lying about the Middle East.”

Romney is not in my book a supporter of Israel.

Here is a quote from An American Century, A Romney For President White Paper. It can be found at Mitt Romney for President | Mitt Romney for President of the United States of America in 2012, when you click on the Issues section.

"As president, Romney will reject any measure that would frustrate direct negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians. He will make clear to the Palestinians that the unilateral attempt to decide issues that are designated for final negotiations by the Oslo Accords is unacceptable. The United States will reduce assistance to the Palestinians if they continue to pursue United Nations recognition or form a unity government that includes Hamas, a terrorist group dedicated to Israel’s destruction. The United States needs a president who will not be a fair-weather friend of Israel. The United States must work as a country to resist the worldwide campaign to delegitimize Israel. We must fight against that campaign in every forum and label it the anti-Semitic poison that it is. Israel’s existence as a Jewish state is not up for debate."

Here Romney sounds like a friend to Israel, but he definitely stands apart from Santorum and Gingrich, in regard to the Palestinians. I believe if I were living in Israel, I would feel much less comfortable with Romney.

Not in mine either. How could a Temple Mormon truly recognize and support Israel when they believe they are God's covenant people? Our Lord, Jesus will step foot and rule from Israel again one day, where Romney thinks his god will step foot I do not know.

    Yes, Jackson County, Missouri.

An interesting question for a Primary and Presidential Debate would be, "Do you believe that Jesus Christ will return as he said he would, and if so, where do you believe he will return?"
