Default Google announces privacy changes across products; users can’t opt out

    By Cecilia Kang,
    1.25.2012

Google will soon know far more about who you are and what you do on the Web.

The Web giant announced Tuesday that it plans to follow the activities of users across nearly all of its
ubiquitous sites, including YouTube, Gmail and its leading search engine.

Well there are other search engines, other video sites, and other free email services. If Google is indeed going ahead with this initiative (which has nothing to do with providing "a seamless experience across all platforms" as they claim but everything to do with leveraging more advertising revenue and a higher corporate valuation) then I am taking my business elsewhere on the web. simple as that. As much as informing all of my contacts that my email addy will no longer be valid, my long ties to Google services will end one minute before midnight on February 29th.

I have a gmail account, it was required to set up my android phone. I do not use that email, I use the att email service that is offered by my internet provider. I do not know if it is interwoven with other sites or not.

You guys don't really think that ALL these search engines don't track your "movements" on the internet? Google is just telling you about it. Not that that is any better but really? I assume I'm being tracked all the time.

I tried that search engine using the Chrome browser and Google still saved all my history of websites visited . When I used that search engine on IE 9 Browser , no history was saved.

Well...that's what they claim anyway. Who knows really. There's less and less entities one can trust any more. So far I haven't had black helicopters hovering over my house using them!
